I’m so happy with how this new abstract turned out! When I look at it, I hear such beautiful sounds, I wish I could translate them to music to share with you. I have synesthesia, which in my case means I associate sounds with colors. So when I hear music, I see colors. Images also evoke sounds, especially abstract art, which plays a huge part in wether I like a painting or not.

Sneak peek of a new autumn painting I started on a rainy afternoon a couple days ago.

Autumn is not quite there yet, but I’m already full of ideas for new fall paintings like “The Wanderer” ! 🍂 The landscape in this painting is completely from my imagination, but the black bear is from a photo I took in Jasper National Park, Canada.

The first layers are done for this new ballerina painting!

This unfinished painting traveled with me all the way from Chicago last year. Since it’s a big one and it’s not stretched on a frame, I had to move everything in my studio to make room to put it on the floor to paint 😅

“Fasten me upon your heart as a seal of fire forevermore. This living, consuming flame will seal you as my prisoner of love. My passion is stronger than chains of death and the grave, all consuming as the very flashes of fire from the burning heart of God. Place this fierce, unrelenting fire over your entire being. Rivers of pain and persecution will never extinguish this flame. Endless floods will be unable to quench this raging fire that burns within you.” ~ Song of Songs 8:6-7

I love storms, the ocean, old ships and the color blue. This painting is not finished yet, but it’s already one of my favorites. 🌊

“The rains have soaked the earth and left it bright with blossoming flowers. The season for singing and pruning the vines has arrived. I hear the cooing of doves in our land, filling the air with songs to awaken you and guide you forth. Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of their flowers whispers, “There’s change in the air.” Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place. For now is the time to arise and come away with me.” ~Song of Songs 2:12-13 (TPT)

“Come Away With Me”, acrylic on canvas, 2023, 80x60cm

It’s not the easiest thing to paint details when the cat wants to see what I’m doing and is especially interested in trying to catch my paintbrush 😅
