Not often I get to see the sun rise these days but I love when I do.
This is on the way in to Peninsula hot springs.
Two very special birthday presents from two special friends to each other celebrating years of friendship and drumming performances.
These were such a joy and privilege to create these custom commission pieces because:
- it's inspiring creating art to celebrate special moments from the past to help keep those memories alive
- I love the energy from the drums and performance in these shots and the special bond you can feel between the two women.
I was also honoured to get to come to the birthday party where these were exchanged and it was such a fun gathering where I met lots of lovely people and I will remember it for a long time! No single photo or video will do it justice so you'll have to believe me.
Thanks so much Kylie and Nicole!

Title: Dare to Dream
You can live a life of colour, expression and beauty by surrendering to what is and doing what it takes to see your vision through to the end.
Mixed media including collage finished with oil on deep gallery wrapped canvas measuring 30 X 40 inches.
Message me to take it home.
Some of the faces I painted on the weekend.
It was such a treat to chat to people while I painted their face.
Camping in the bush was a lovely treat too.
Work in Progress.
Acrylic layers done just needs finishing touches in oils.
Not titled yet, any suggestions?
This is 30 X 40 inches on beautiful thick gallery wrapped canvas.
Contact me if you're interested in pre-ordering this as a print or original.
My latest commission piece and my first diptych.
It's titled 'Exchanged Glances'.
These are 30 X 30 inch square canvases.
I loved working with this collector. The brief was pretty open ended which is always nice to have someone trust your vision that much, but I was also able to get input on specific things when I wanted to make sure it was to their taste.
What are these two faces saying to you?
Twilight Meandering

The best thing happened today.
New face paints arrived.
Can't wait to take these to parties. I have my first paid gig coming up.
How good is a belated birthday gift? (We were talking about extended birthdays today Brooke Lo Giudice ).
Office days are nicer surrounded by pretty things and pretty smells
Thanks for these RTO Advice Group, can't wait for their eventual blooming.
Potential for Greatness
2021
Small in sketch in my sketchbook incorporating many mixed media like graphite, gesso, collage, spray paint, inks, posca pens and even nail polish (which had mysteriously appeared in my studio before I decided to use it).
Excited to be playing with more collage again!
My hands are covered in gel paste. Messy fun.
It feels like another way to keep it loose, random, playful, unexpected and rewarding as I usually find something unplanned to stick on there and bring another element to the piece.
Stretching Your Creative Muscles
We often think we can bounce straight into our most important work but the truth is creativity is a muscle that needs warming up.
This morning my day started with some abstract sketching on the morning to get in the zone.
Inks, pigment, graphite, guache and flow medium.
It's not over yet but I'll leave it to dry and then might go in with some paint markers.
It's not quite routine for me to do this but working on making it more frequent.
Comment...
What do you do to warm up for the day?
Or
What new thing do you want to bring into your morning routine?

There's many things I want to change and create and become in my life. Keeping my dreams alive seems to be what keeps me living my best life. I know you don't get there by being idle. You get there by hard work, systems, discipline and moderated with some self love, respect and balance.

Spent the weekend away from my studio so I did some watercolour sketching. This is the same source image I'm working on a larger painting for, so it's also a study.
I bought my first original painting!
Fell in love with it instantly and just knew it was the right decision.
I had recently realised I was denying myself of buying others art thinking I didn't need it/couldn't afford it or wasn't ready for it, but I called bu****it on that cos I'm ready to live my most abundant life now!
It''s such a pleasure to support another artist, become a collector and to live with this beautiful piece.
By the talented Leigh Ho**er who is also studying the Milan Art Mastery Program. Her insta is - check her out!
It's called 'Her Father's Daughter', mixed media on canvas.

Another sketchy thing I'm sometimes working on. Water colour, ink and acrylic
It has been put aside and sporadically picked up but is organically developing without a plan or a schedule.
More splashing around on old drawings. Gonna start leaving a sketch book out while I paint more often.
A gift for my nephew who turned into a teenager yesterday, and we got to celebrate in person!
Revamped an old drawing (from 30 faces in 30 days challenge I did in 2020) using some mixed media techniques.
I love when the idea for a piece just lands on me and I can quickly pull it together like I did for this one.
Work in progress.
What a ride it's been so far!
Loving to work on a circle canvas and also my new fluro spray paints.
Late night painting session.
The easel is behind the camera. I'm working on a commission and it's a surprise for one of the lovely owners.
Could it be you?

'Alternate Existence'
My experience of outdoor camping music festivals is that they provide a space where people can exit the normal confines of society and at the same time experience more direct contact with natural elements.
This allows a feeling of total freedom, play and genuine relationships which are not based on exchange or filling a need but rather pure joy of coming together and sharing experiences.
I cannot wait for the next one! It's been a while...
