Dead Mask Dead Mask is a journey of consciousness through gloomy worlds, it is an echo that comes from the bottom of an old well, it is a song of a stone in the wall of an ancient city.

The third track from "Dead Mask" EP, called "Fi Tariq al-Majhul", which can be translated as "On the Way to the Unknown", is taking you away for a ride. You’re walking the evening streets of an old town, where narrow passes lead you to small squares filled with people. They won't pay attention to you, instead keeping busy with their routine. Scooters scurry among people, children play right on the chipped stone pavement, merchants shout to each other before starting to close their shops for the night, and from afar, the mullah's voice can be heard from the minaret of the mosque. You continue going further into the evening, deeper into the unknown, and the feeling of ancient magic amalgamating with your own reality won't leave you. You feel like you're two thousand years old, and yet you are still wandering underneath the stars...

This composition includes a fragment of a nasheed (religious song) based on a poem written in the 8th century by Ali ibn Husayn, called "Laysa al-Gharib" ("[He] is not a stranger"):

"The stranger is not the foreigner to the East or West;
Rather, the stranger is the one foreign to the shroud and the coffin."

The second track from "Dead Mask" EP pictures a sudden manifestation of the dark side of this world. It appears as the lord of fallen souls who groan from the weight of their own sins. Terrifying in its outward appearance, this menacing creature of many faces suddenly emerges out of thin air, surrounded by a legion of demons and inhabitants of the underworld. But at the most terrible moment the demon reveals a human self, plagued with his own doubts, torn between the remorse and pain of loss. And suddenly it becomes clear that Angra Mainyu is an ancient archetype associated with our dark unconscious side.

We are glad to present to you our new EP Dead Mask. It is a journey of consciousness through gloomy worlds, it is an echo that comes from the bottom of an old well, it is a song of a stone in the wall of an ancient city.

It is not a coincidence that we chose December 21 as the release date - the darkest and most mystical night of the year. The dark night of the human soul is a repository of the unconscious, the archetypal, this is what connects a person with the past and is rooted in infinity.
