You may hear the phrase 'ground blizzard' today as there is a threat for one in west central Minnesota between midnight and 6AM. So, what is it? In short, high winds blow freshly fallen snow and cause whiteout conditions. To top it off, they are often followed by bitter cold Arctic air, as is the case this week.

Areas of concern will be within our western area as well as National Weather Service Aberdeen South Dakota and National Weather Service Grand Forks North Dakota. Be sure to stay alert to any weather updates and adjust plans and/or prepare accordingly!
