ALHAMDULILLAHI RABBIL ALAMEEN

“Someone asked Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Khanbash, ‘What did the Prophet ﷺ do when the devils plotted against him?’ So he replied, ‘The Devils came to the Prophet ﷺ from the valleys and descended upon him from the mountains. Amongst them was a devil who wanted to burn Allah’s Messenger ﷺ with a wooden torch that he had with him.

So [then] Jibreel عليه السلام came and said, ‘O Muhammad! Say [it]!’

He replied, ‘What shall I say?’

He said, ‘Say:

أَعُوْذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ الَّتِيْ لَا يُجَاوِزُهُنَّ بَرٌّ وَلَا فَاجِرٌ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ وَبَرَأَ وَذَرَأَ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَعْرُجُ فِيْهَا ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا ذَرَأَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ فِتَنِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ طَارِقٍ إِلَّا طَارِقًا يَطْرُقُ بِخَيْرٍ ، يَا رَحْمٰنُ

Translation:
"I seek protection in the perfect words of Allah which neither the upright nor the corrupt may overcome from the evil of what He created, of what He brought into existence, and of what He scattered, from the evil of what descends from the heavens, and of what rises up to them, from the evil of what He scattered in the earth and of what emerges from it, from the evil trials of night and day, and from the evil of every night visitor, except the night visitor who comes with good, O Merciful One."

And so the fire of the Devils was put out and Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, defeated them.’

Also once Khālid ibn al-Walīd (R.A) would wake up from fright at night and would come out of his house with his sword. It was feared that someone would get hurt. So he complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: “Indeed Jibrīl said to me that a powerful and crafty jinni was plotting against you, So he said, ‘Should I not teach you some words which Jibreel (A.S) taught me when he believed a powerful [Ifreet] Jinn was plotting against me? So, Khalid (R.A) repeated these words and this stopped happening.

A Friend of Allāh (Walī) once performed prayer behind an Imām. After the Salāh, the Imām asked him, “You don't work and don't earn money. You don't ask for anything from others. In that case, how do you obtain your food?” When the great Walī heard this, he said, “I should perform my Salāh again because I have prayed behind someone who does not know who provides the sustenance (Rizq). The prayer will not be valid.”

What is the sign that a man is satisfied with Allah ﷻ ?

His special signs are that his mind becomes narrow in mixing with people, gets disgusted in mixing with them, and becomes joyful at the pleasure of Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah).

He lives in society as if alone and lives in solitude as if in society. He is like a sojourner in his house and like a permanent resident in a journey, a man present in obscurity and a man absent in presence, but he is separate in mind and remains immerged in Dhikr.

Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib كرم الله وجهه explained about them saying:

"They are a people who have been given more knowledge of everything and are given the good news of the light of certain faith. They think easy what the rich think difficult. They make friends with those from whom the fools keep aloof."

They live in the world with their bodies but their souls keep hanging with the highest Throne. They are the real representatives of God on Earth and inviters to His religion.

وَمَا نُرْسِلُ بِٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ إِلَّا تَخْوِيفًۭا
And We send not the signs except as a warning

LIBYA: Omar al-Mukhtar (d.1931), the Lion of the Desert, teaching Qur’an at his home. Omar al-Mukhtar was an Islamic Sufi scholar and revolutionary who heroically led the resistance against the Italian occupation of Libya for almost 20 years. This amazing revolutionary believer taught the Qur’an so that it was understood and implemented. It was his clarity of Allah’s commands that made him stand against the occupation of Libya. Once Omar al-Mukhtar in his Madrassah was taking dars of the Qur’an for children. His friend and aid Yousuf Borahil entered the room and said, “Ya Omar, Isn’t it tiring work to fight against the Italians and teach students.” Omar al-Mukhtar replied, “Our fight is not only with the gun but it’s a battle of Aqeedah too. Only when we left the teachings of the Qur’an, the Italians managed to take us over.” |
