On this perfect summer morning Neil, Huseyin and James picked up the win at the KCA 3up TTT in Hamstreet. Averaging a speed of 46km/h they completed the Q25/3 course in a time of 52minutes and 38 seconds.
Thanks to Woolwich CC and all the organisers and marshals for giving up their time to make the race happen.
Great to chat to old and new friends over tea and cake at the end too. Well done to all the riders.
Get yourself down to a TT and pin a number on 👍

Richard Friend a long time member of the Gemini and previous club secretary rode the Waller Pain hill climb last Sunday with a fantastic 2nd place overall and second Vet, well done Rich 💪👍🥈

This Saturday saw Gemini members James and Matt pin numbers on at the CC Bexley open 10 TT at Grain. Matt (riding for Colourtech) rode a course PB of 21:23 to take an impressive second place behind Nic Fennel, who took the win with 20:27.
James took first place in the road bike category with a 23:21.
Last night the club (well, Neil P) organised a 2 hour track session at Lee Valley.
Zooming 'round the boards on fixed wheel track bikes is hard work, but so much fun as can be seen by all our smiley faces. We did 4 blocks of about 10km, average speeds of around 24-25mph with the odd 30mph sprint. A solid workout! 💪
Thanks to Neil for organising, and to everyone who attended.
After the resounding success of last years inaugural event we are again hosting The Russell Fenton and Peter Elliott memorial races at Hog Hill on the 18th of June. These are BMCR races, for riders aged 40 and over.

Here are some snaps of the clubs inaugural Isle of Wight weekend jaunt. Spirits were high among Neil P, James D, James H, Ian, Tim and Colin as the 6 rode the 110 miles down to Shanklin on Friday. Apart from a brief shower on the way down the weather was perfect, including a slight tailwind.
The balmy conditions continued throughout the weekend which, combined with some of the best tarmac in the country (and some decent pubs and cafés), made for a perfect cycle holiday. The group explored and "rehydrated" on Saturday and Sunday, generally took it easy to save the legs for the return 110 miles into a headwind on Monday. The wind on the return leg was actually not bad at all, and what with the sun beaming down all day the weather was actually bliss, topping off a great weekend.
Colin, Neil, Tim and James had an epic day out on the bikes yesterday. Despite many (many) punctures (all but one on James' rear tyre), the quartet made the 120 mile roundtrip to Rye for lunch. Help and tubes were offered from members of Bigfoot CC and Team Sidcup Cycles - many thanks guys, the cycling community really is wonderful isn't it!?
Next weekend 6 club members head to the Isle of Wight for 4 days of cycling and rehydration 🍻🚴🍻
Neil, James and Tim made the most of the sunshine this morning. The three amigos covered 120km, with a much needed pitstop at Teapot Island in Yalding.
Neil, Tim and James braved the rain yesterday riding the KCA reliability trial. Fueled by bananas and jelly babies, each rider clocked up around 200km for the day. It was all smiles for the camera at the start 😀
James, Neil and Huseyin represented the club at Chase The Sun last weekend, riding 205 miles from the East coast to the West. Read all about it:

Chase The Sun (Run From The Rain) My esteemed riding partners Neil, Huseyin and I decided to enter CTS back in 2021. We were looking for an event along the lines of the epic Tour Of Kent ride Neil and I did at the end of lockdown 2…
Just to say a huge well done and thanks to Colin for organising the BMCR Gemini BC memorial races at Hog Hill last Sunday, it went very well with great racing and feedback from riders and spectators.
Thanks also to everyone who helped out and supported, it certainly showed the club is more than capable of putting on these events.
It was nice to welcome Russell’s Mum Patricia and Peters family, Fred, Sandra, and Paul who presented the prizes and I know were very emotional and touched by the clubs’ efforts.
I was representing the club at Ride London this year. Here's my write up 🙂

Ride “it’s not a race” London Essex 2022 It’s been a while since I wrote up a bike race ride… Covid wrote off a couple of years of racing and mass start events. Not to mention my fitness. Having not raced since 2019, and weigh…

Tuesday 3rd May at Kemnal Park crematorium 11am.
Photos will be displayed showing Russell cycling and racing over the years on the day.
It is with great sadness to inform that Russell passed away peacefully this evening with family and close friends. He was very happy and contented with all your lovely stories and wishes which were conveyed to Russ throughout the day.
Rest in peace Russell
A fantastic evening at the Gemini track session in the Olympic Lee Valley velodrome, riders back on the boards after the last couple of years and great to catch up with friends.
Just two weeks until the first club dinner since 2019!!
Matt, Huseyin and James at the Bexley end of season hill climb. Matt and Huseyin both made it up Stansted hill in 1:24, James 1:32. Thanks to our friends at Bexley CC for putting on this season's time trials and being so welcoming and supportive. 👍
Two Gemini riders took part in the KCA 10mile TT on Sunday. Huseyin taking the road bike category win with a time of 23:03 and James Hawkins' 22:32 was good enough for 2nd Vet, 4th overall (5th if you include Alex Clays winning ladies time. Chapeau Alex).
