It’s definitely spring time !! This is my next project I’m pattern testing.
Sharon Holland’s next gorgeous pattern due for release this month is called Tulip Time and I’m warming things up with this lovely palette. I think that Katarina’s Florence collection is perfect for the warm rich colours I’m after for this pattern.

I still have some lovely shots left to show you of The Saguaro Quilt this time, on my bamboo ladder! Doesn’t it look cute?!
I’m glad I went for the blue binding, it seems to frame this quilt really nicely. There is someonething very satisfying about a crisp corner and striking edge. I just love it on this one.

🍭Sunday Swirl Lovliness🍭
Here’s a little swirl to top off the weekend! The beautiful Saguaro Quilt pattern is available to buy now. You can get your copy from visiting account and the link is in her bio.
💡TOP TIP: to get super duper points matching for this quilt pattern consider pressing to the side and think about pressing direction as you go, as you make each block. It will make it easier at the end for you to sew everything together quickly and you will get lovely nestled seams and matching pointy points. 🩵💙💜

Sharon is a bit of a genius when it comes to writing patterns. So much consideration goes into it. It feels so satisfying to make, it’s like you can’t really go wrong!

🪡🧵I recently got my sewing machine serviced. I’ve had my Janome Memory Craft 9450 QCP for almost 5 years now and to make sure it’s was tip top condition I made sure I took it to my local specialist.
I was without it for a whole week and it was a horrible feeling not having it in the house ‘available’ for me to just access it whenever I wanted 🤣
Anyway, got it back in time to make this fabulous pattern by Sharon Holland. My advice is, don’t procrastinate, have it done, because you don’t want to be without your machine very long. Machines need servicing.

✨New blades please! ✨
My saguaro pieces look so pretty on the cutting table.
When I was a beginner quilter I used to always try to cut enough to make one block just to make sure, but now I’m far too impatient to do that! 🤣
I always cut everything out first and then start piecing. It’s funny how you can change your systems over time as a quilter.
Is there anything you have changed doing over the years with more quilting experience?

✨Welcome to all you quilty creatives. This is me! 💁🏼♀️
👋🏻 Hi to new followers, thanks for joining me and thanks to all of you still staying tuned. Time to introduce myself and show my face 🤓
🇬🇧My name is Katherine, I live in the south of the UK by the sea and I love quilting! I am quite quite quilting mad. 🤔💭I think…therefore I quilt! 🪡
A few things about me….
🧵I have a very understanding husband who lets me use a whole room in the house as my quilt studio and keep all my quilty things 🤣.
🐾 I have a beautiful whippet who is my little shadow these days and keeps me company with all my quilty adventures.
💻 By day I work full-time as a Content Designer and by night I put pedal to the metal.
💠 One of my all time favourite things to do in the quilty world is quilt pattern testing and collaborating with inspirational and talented designers. I also love meeting new quilty friends and I hope to make even more this year…!
🪡 This year I’ve decided to get back to my creative roots. There are too many quilts I put off making last year and I’m not going continue this trend any longer!
🎉🥳End of my blurb! and if you’re still reading this, then please 🙏🏻reach out, let’s be insta quilty friends!
👇🏻Feel free to and your comments below. Say hi, introduce yourself, and tell me how boss you are, at making awesome quilty stuff! I want to hear about it 🤗
💜Mini Quilt Madness💜
You may think this is a block… but no! It’s my first mini quilt!! It’s 12” x 12”. I love it soooo much. It is so cute these half square triangles measure 1” finished !🥰
You can get so many ideas for cool things to make from Look books. Here I made Sharon Holland’s purple & pink version of Stitches from the Heart Quilt with the same Lilliput fabrics…. but in teeny tiny miniature.
💖It’s completely adorable and I think these purples and pinks are a lovely change to valentines red. I love it so much im also going to make the wall hanging size as well which is 35”x 35”. I figure that way I can give one to my mum and keep the baby one 😂 💕💖.

💜New quilty project💖
Whilst I am binding my blossomed spell table runner, I’m going to start my next project for this weekend. This is really really really cute and as soon as I saw it, I just knew I had to make it! 🤣 Know the feeling…?
I’m making progress as you can see. Can you guess what it is ? Stay tuned…
🌸Secondary patterns
I love it when you sew the blocks together and then you start seeing secondary patterns in the design just like this one!
Just the binding left to do. I think I’m gonna go for Navy to frame it nicely.
🧵Sewing Studio🪡
🏠I am lucky enough to have a dedicated room in the house where I can shut myself away quilting to my hearts content. I wouldn’t say that I am the tidiest of people because when I get into a project then things start getting messy. I don’t always remember to put things back immediately where I have stored them. However I can’t sustain working in a mess. I will always tidy up before I start a new project.
✂️What has helped me enormously though with keeping things more organised is this Ikea peg board which is on the wall. It’s been fantastic to have right next to my Janome, as everything is so accessible and I think it looks rather lovely on display. I love hanging my rulers, scissors and threads on there. The small containers are particularly useful for bits and bobs. So now rather than things being spread out on my desk taking up valuable space., I know all my items are on the peg board…somewhere. Thank you to for giving me the inspiration🤗
💭Are there any good tips you have to share how to keep your work room organised and tidy?

🙌🏻Weekend sewing🪡🧵
Making progress….I really enjoy smaller quilting projects at the moment. I think it’s because lately I’ve felt I’ve had less time to sew, and of course smaller items naturally take less time to complete. Completion gives you a sense of making progress and I think that’s what I like about it the most.

✨First quilty make of 2024 - Blossomed Spell
👠Kicking off the year making a small weekend project. This is block one completed, of the lovely Blossomed Spell table runner made with the beautiful fabric designed by
💕The quilt block looked so pretty once I pieced it that I felt it deserved solo attention on the wall. How cute are these
✂️There’s definitely something refreshing about the first make of the year. I think it’s good to get one under your belt as soon as you can. Start as you mean to go on I say 🙌🏻
What is your first make of the year gonna be ???

This year its been a busy year, and a bit of an emotional roller coaster ride.
➕The positive: I left a job I loathed and after a lot of hard work I managed to get my career break in to UX Content Design.
➖The negative: I suffered gut wrenching sadness this year when my beautiful soul dog Lily passed away. She was 11 years old and was my quilting bff.
Oh and I turned 40 this year! I’m not sure if that’s a positive or a negative …but it is what it is!
Life does have a habit of throwing you curve balls, but what is reassuring is that quilting is always there when you need it. That is a comforting thought!
2024 looks like a good year for making quilts. What do you think ?! Xx
❄️ Happy Winter Solstice ❄️
Throw back to two years ago.Is this quilt pattern on your ‘to make list’? It should be! It’s very quick and fun to make.
This is still one of my favourite quilts. Beautiful wintery blues with sharp angular lines. The quilting became a strong feature on this quilt, light thread against the lovely dark mediterraneo pure solid background really threw the quilting design out. I’ve included my inspiration picture to see where my mind was going with this one.
Quilting design was take. From Walking 2 book by . It’s an excellent book and worth purchasing if your interested in creating impactful quilting using your domestic machine and quilting foot.

Fabric mediterreaneo, ocean waves, snow, celestial.
🎄Me again! The reverse of this quilt is so pretty I just had to do a separate post showing it off 😜
Wintertale Winter Village is the cutest fabric ever. Katarina is great at creating these scenic prints. I absolutely love prints like this. They are so different and I love useong them for backing quilts.
For the binding I used one of my favourite PURE solids - Evergreen. Do you have a favourite AGF Pure solid at the moment?
