Celebrating a Game-Changing Impact! 🌱💻

Today we would really like to celebrate and say a huge THANK YOU to The Gloria Angelique Fuller Will Trust for their continuous sponsorship of the Teach Each Child Tech (TECT) Programme in partnership with Community Build Durban at Isihlangusabasha Primary School, empowering 475 school learners with much needed tech, IT and literacy skills! 🎉💻🤖📚

Your support has enabled the students to open the doors to both current and future opportunities, and with 6 out of the 10 most sought-after careers being in the IT space, you are unlocking top career opportunities for these learners, equipping them to be real-world problem solvers, lifelong readers and have the confidence to dream big! All this, whilst bringing the joy in the classroom!

Holiday Food Parcels for Westham Secondary 🌱

As the school holidays approach, The Sprout Foundation aims to continue supporting and feeding the learners from our partner schools. Many of them receive their only meals of the day at school, so when the holidays approach, food security becomes a concern for our learners. Therefore, Sprout provides vulnerable learners from our partner schools with food parcels for the holidays. This holiday season, we managed to distribute 220 parcels. We would like to thank Westham Bakery for supporting us with 50 loaves of bread that went to learners at the school.

This would not be possible without support and partnership!

Isihlangusabasha Kitchen Update 🌱

Wednesday was a great day at Isihlangusabasha Primary this week! Our kitchen update project started, and we had our regular TECT (Teach Each Child Tech) program running. We are thrilled that the kitchen is being restored after the unfortunate burglary. A sincere thank you to each individual and company that donated toward this project. Without you, we couldn’t have helped the school fix their kitchen to feed the 450 children they serve daily. 💚🌱

Can you help Isihlangusabasha Primary? 🌱

As many of you may know, The Sprout Foundation has been supporting our first-ever partner school since 2020. Many of you have joined us to help provide the school with food and educational resources they didn’t have.

Last weekend, we sadly received news that there had been a burglary at the school, and all the school’s cooking equipment had been stolen. We are attempting to help the school upgrade the security of the kitchen and replace the stolen items. This is going to cost R10,000.00.

If you would like to help us get Isihlangusabasha’s kitchen running again so that they can continue to feed the 450 learners they serve each day, you can email [email protected] or donate to Sprout via the following banking details. December at The Sprout Foundation means food parcels! 🌱📦🍞🥫 Every December, Sprout collects donations for our food parcel drive in collaboration with partner schools. These parcels play a crucial role in our feeding scheme, ensuring that every child we support has a meal every day. During December, learners don’t receive their complimentary meals from school. In partnership with invaluable donors and partners, Sprout provides each child with a holiday food parcel to take home to their families. Our 2023 parcel drive was a wonderful success, and we extend heartfelt thanks to those involved: Staff and management at Alpha BPO and Oxford Freshmarket Waterfall. Your unwavering commitment to serving those in need makes these parcels possible and goes a long way for our learners.

Sprout is thrilled to congratulate one of our 2022 Job Readiness Programme participants for her outstanding achievement! 🌱

After attending the job readiness session last year, Sthandiwe decided to pursue her dream of starting a creche. In the past year, Sthandiwe has not only addressed a critical need in her community by providing a daycare option for parents in the area, but she has also registered her creche, hired an assistant, and acquired a new property for expanding the creche in 2024. Sthandiwe, you are a true example of hard work and determination, and we are incredibly proud of your achievements! Keep shining 🌟📚
