Another great reason to attend the reunion!!

Congratulations Scott!!

It is with great honour that the South Adelaide Basketball Club announce the retirement of the number 5 playing jersey worn by club legend Scott Davie. Scott’s contributions to our club and the game of basketball in South Australia have been immeasurable and his impact on our organisation will be forever felt.

Throughout his illustrious career, Scott consistently demonstrated a high level of skill, dedication and sportsmanship on and off the court. Highlights include: 583 games played for SABC, South Adelaide captain from 1962 - 1972, 5 x premierships, 10 x South Australian state team player, 3 x South Australian state team captain and Olympian at the 1964 games in Tokyo.

As we pay tribute to Scott and his achievements, we would like to invite members of the South Adelaide community to join us in celebrating his legacy. The ceremony to retire Scott’s jersey will take place at the South Adelaide 70th Anniversary Reunion on the 25th of February. We hope to see as many of our members, friends and fans there as possible to help us celebrate Scott’s remarkable career.

Dean Whitford mentioned to me that Michael Ah Matt was famous for his “ no look passes” and he had such extraordinary court awareness which enabled him to pass to people who sometimes weren’t expecting it …Arthur Newley was the recipient in this case with Dean Whitford looking on (not sure what #33 for the opposing team was doing 😳😳🫣🫣)

Hi all, putting a call out there 🏀🏀, as most of you know we have moved into Mitchell Park. We have been allocated a trophy cabinet upstairs in the foyer. We are in the process of moving the trophies from Mikes Corner to Mitchell Park. What we are lacking is old photos of players, premiership teams etc and we would love to include these for all to see. If anyone here can lend us any (not for keeps of course) please Private message me. We could even do rotations where we change them around every so often 🏀🏀

PS; I understand there are some photos on the wall at the stadium but it is important we keep them there

Thank you all
