Anything for the gains....
Last night in Lancaster, four young men attended a gig and left their bikes locked outside the venue. When they came out they found their bike locks had been sawed and bikes stolen. This would be devastating for any young person. Add to that that they’re young men seeking asylum and living on £8 a week. Their bikes are literally life savers so if you’re local and have a bike you don’t use would you be willing to donate it to the men? 🙏🏼

This is a sympathetic look at the vulnerable young men on the spectrum whose isolation has lead them to falling prey to the Incel/blackpill culture. This lead to the horrendous attacks against women committed by Elliott Rogers and Alex
Manassian. We clearly need to be doing more to supporting the social development and integration of these young men into society. And by that I specifically mean youth groups where young people on the spectrum can develop confidence, social skills and self-esteem. Worth a listen.
Boys Like Me | CBC Podcasts | CBC Listen Why are lonely, young men a growing threat to our safety? In 2018, a Toronto man drove a van down a busy sidewalk, killing 11 people and injuring many more. "Just under a year ago I worked with a group of individuals from Adrian MurrellsWindrush Initiatives mens health group to develop a report by Healthwatch UK on their experiences of racism and the effects it can have on mental health.
These brave men gave their insights into the journey of a Black man living in a multi cultural society. From the workplace to social settings, where we have to endure Unconscious bias, overt racism,Institutional racism, negative cultural biasis. We have to mask elements of our identity and not be ourselves on a daily basis. Everyday day you have to tap in your mental reserves to display a positive attitude for fear of how you could be perceived (angry Black man).
What I find amazing about these gentlemen is they gave their insights to help enable others to talk and share their feelings but also a means of healing for themselves.
As Men we tend to bottle up our feelings until it gets to crisis point and explode but if we take the opportunity to release some of the pressure by just opening up a little bit you can begin to see clarity of thought and less mental fog.
Mens mental health week can a time to pause and think of of your daily pressures take advantage of the God given positive resources around you, family, friends, nature and most of all yourself.
We don't give ourselves enough credit even for the little things we do and its time to start doing that.
To all men and women for that matter don't sit in silence open up that box and start the journey of emotional healing.

Interesting that this is a male phenomenon in Japan and elsewhere. No doubt neurodiversity and mental health are factors however as the film notes a large factor is the pressure to be financially successful.
