Keaton’s pursuit for authenticity within his music (and online presence) has garnered him an immense following. His no frills attitude has made him a formidable force within South Africa’s Dubstep and Bass-music scene, bringing an intensity to both his production and live shows like few else. A non-conformist at heart, Grimehouse is known for disregarding the need to be signed to labels and giving away most of his (independently funded) productions for free on his soundcloud page. He has subsequently hit the Beatport and iTunes Top 100 charts in over 20 productions.

Beyond his own musical success, Keaton has also proven himself a true ally in the fight against GBV, co-founding SubLife Sessions, an online music-production course targeted at up-and-coming female artists which he facilitated during the Pandemic.

We are proud to announce that we’ll have hosting an evening edition of their popular thrift market at the Peace, Love & Bass event. The market will take place in the downstairs area at the Woodstock Brewery from 19:00 - 22:00

A ticket to the event will get you into the market for free! If you’re interested in attending the market only, a donation of R50 to our anti-GBV cause will get you in. You can also easily upgrade your ticket, if you decide you want to join the festivities on the night.

A familiar face to many South African Drum & Bass fans, Kallisto has over 9 years DJ experience and a fierce on-stage presence to match! Having co-founded Misfits (a regular Durban-based Drum and Bass event) back in 2014, Kallisto has gone on to solidify her unique sound with features on Bassport FM, 5FM Radio as well as taking the stage at Rage Festival, Mieliepop, Twilight, Smoking Dragon, Earthdance, Science Frikshun, and It Came From the Jungle, to name a few.

Keeping it unconfined and diverse, her infectious on-stage energy have made her a name you can not ignore!

Let’s talk a little bit about GBV...

Undoubtedly a world-wide public health issue, GBV spans across all spectrum of cultures, ages, and socio-economical levels.

Findings show that violence is a learned behaviour that can be inter-generationally transferred. Sons and daughters who witness domestic violence have a higher likelihood of becoming victims or survivors and perpetrators of violence. A girl who experiences violence in childhood is approximately 3 times more likely to experience violence as a woman. Men who witness violence between parents or are themselves abused during childhood are at greatest risk of becoming perpetrator.

How do we break the cycle? 🌱

Awareness and understanding of the experience of GBV is crucial. A recent investigation into the effects of a six-week School Curriculum intervention (conducted in Kenya), showed a radical improvement in male attitudes towards women and increased the likelihood of intervention if witnessing GBV, among adolescent boys. If replicated, this program has the potential to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with GBV.

Let us build a society based on advancing fundamental human rights and dealing severely with people who violate others. Organisations like & are putting their focus on changing the way the youth regard one another. Teaching them that we are all equal, no matter what gender we are, and that violence is never the way to solve conflict.
