Every day is a special occasion for me to thank God for seeing me through this journey called life thus far. As I turn another year older today, I want to thank God even more for the gift of life and the gracious woman he's shaping me into.

Life is full of uncertainties, but his grace and mercies have helped me face and overcome them over the years.

Today, I celebrate all of the victories and successes he's given me over the years, as I hope for and work towards even more resounding victories in the coming year.

Be on the lookout and make yourself available this week for free eye exams that may be scheduled in your neighborhood.

Word Sight Day is tomorrow. To commemorate the day, the majority of eye clinics and doctors of optometry will offer free eye exams.

So why do you still wait? You have the chance to have your eyes examined. Your eyes deserve the best love and care possible because they are crucial to living a happy and fulfilling life.

I'm quite proud of how far I've come when I think and look back at where I came from.

When I set out to become the best version of myself, my biggest challenges were fear and self-doubt. I continually fought them and prevailed.

As my friend will frequently remind me, it's a marathon, not a sprint. I'll persevere until I can reflect on my life and see that I've lived without any limitations and shared every drop of value in me with my family, community and the world.

Our greatest worry is not that we are insufficient but rather that we are incredibly powerful.

I'm pleased with how far I've come and how far I still have to go.
