Hello everyone! One of the great things about the running community is that it’s full of people who inspire us: the friend who meets you for an early morning run, the stranger that calls out encouragements during a race, the family members who adopted the role of Sherpa, the person who motivated you to defy your expectation. Inspiration is everywhere, let’s call it out. Tag the people that inspire you and give them a shout out :)

St. Patty’s day is usually spent surrounded by friends. But today, this yearly tradition of joy and celebration is being replaced by the need for social distancing. Despite all that’s going on, I wanted to encourage you to take a moment for yourself to go for a run or a walk. Take a picture and tag us :). As an added bonus we encourage you to reach out to a friend and be a light in a time of darkness. Happy St.Patties day y’all! We’re all in this together, wash those hands!

Hello Charlotte Runners,

We are in strange times, the seriousness of the Coronavirus pandemic is nothing to be taken lightly. All over the world people are practicing social distancing as a means to flatten the curve to help protect those around us and alleviate the immense pressure on hospitals. It should come to no surprise that many run clubs are temporarily stopping their group runs as a precautionary measure to help fight this.

However, just because we aren't meeting in person doesn't mean we can't come together to help motivate and support each other to reach our goals and stay healthy. Therefore, I challenge the Charlotte running community to come together virtually and run 70,400 miles in 8 weeks (the amount of time the CDC recommends suspending group gatherings). In addition, follow us on Instagram () to receive a new mini challenge each week put forth by local fitness/running professionals. Complete these virtual challenges for a chance to receive prizes donated by brands such as RunCLTRun, On, Mizuno and more (a full list will be posted in the coming week).

We know these are uncertain times, so let's come together and be united.

All the best,

A fellow Charlotte Runner
