2 years flew by real quick~

My time away from the public eye was full of changes. Changes that needed to happen offline and away from people. Like the name of my second album, there was a lot of reflection. A nuance of joy and loss, success and struggle, chaos and stillness, grief and anger.

The days are long, but the years are short. I spent my hiatus rebuilding, traveling, landing consistent work outside of art/music, mending my relationships, letting go, forgiving myself and making peace with my past.

🎬 Sunday, December 13th @ 6 pm will mark the one-year anniversary of my first album Origin Story. In honor of that, I’ll release a documentary on my YouTube channel that and I have been working on together for the past couple of months. We had loads of fun/frustration creating this project, and we are excited to share it 🥺😩

📸 I will release the photoshoots I did/will do with & periodically, along with a handful of photoshoots where I will be behind the camera to celebrate some truly beautiful women in my life 👭

(my birthday 🎂) I will release the official music video Friendsgiving (Redux) on my YouTube channel. Friendsgiving was one of the few events that took place this year where my social anxiety didn’t get to me. Even though it doesn’t seem like it, I’m still learning how to be comfortable being around multiple people. It takes a lot of emotional energy, and I now need a lot of alone time to recharge my social battery 🔋 I’m super thankful for the community of good people who stuck around with me throughout the years. It takes work to make relationships last, but when it does, it’s *chef’s kiss* 👩‍🍳

😴 I’ll go offline for a while once it’s all out there, at least for the holiday season. I’m glad that my projects are wrapping up nicely. I’m ready for R&R, as well as some quality time alone and with people I care about. I know I can be rather hard on myself. I’ve been an overachiever since birth, I’ll admit. But I’m proud of the work I’ve done and been doing. Work hard for YOURself. No one else is going to accomplish my dreams for me. Chase your dreams, not people. The right ones will reveal themselves to you eventually🏅

I see a variety of recurring numbers and patterns in my life. I was recently told by a dear friend that when you see something specific twice, it is a sign from the universe to research the significance of whatever it is.

I don’t believe in coincidences, but rather in Jung’s theory of synchronicities. I believe that Friday the 13th has a significant meaning to me.

This show was the first one I did in front of an audience or on a livestream in several months. I’ve been spending a lot of time creating and producing on my own/less than a handful of close friends, in my own inner world. I’m taking it slow with coming back into “the music scene” or whatever you want to call it.

This is really the first time in my artistic career where I feel confident enough in myself to do things solo. I’m really digging this newfound artistic independence. And this fantastic quote from Voltaire, one of my favorite philosophers. For who ran the event. For who was in charge of sound. For & for hosting and holding space. For who blew me away with her vulnerable, passionate prose. And these fantastic, wonderful human beings I get to call my close friends, who drove out from all over to watch me do my thing in the middle of a global pandemic.

Thank you for yet another meaningful holiday. What a wonderful way to celebrate it. In case you missed the set, the link is in my bio at your viewing leisure.

Reflection is a self-produced, independent EP about letting go, achieving peace of mind, finding your own path, healing, expressing a desire to be understood, the importance of interpersonal relationships, and relieving yourself from guilt or shame from past mistakes. The bare bones instrumentation and minimal sounds evoke a series of raw emotions.
