Podd Ceramics
Nature inspired ceramics. Each individual piece is handcrafted with love.
A little black and white combo….For a change 🤔
Another happy couple…same texture different form.
Still with the black and white…. Small works experimenting with gloss and matte.
A little textural huddle…. Small finished works ready for the art trail in November.
A few of the usual suspects. .
A happy couple 😍…
A slab that I was preparing to use for a new podd dried a little faster than anticipated and I couldn’t use it. So last night I had a little play….. such fun. Takes me back to my Lino cut printing making at high school.
I call this piece Denim. Black clay with layers of slip and underglaze - then carving through the surface layers at varying depths resulting in a variation of colour and texture across the surface. It’s the only piece I’ve made like this so far as it’s so so time consuming, and quite large for me. But I do love the process. This one sold to a lovely lady during the art trail - should I make more??? 🤔 …….
This beauty is the only one in the series that I have left …. I’m secretly hoping I can keep her for myself.

Peonies from the weekend in all their glory!!! We are back on this weekend 10am - 4pm with a few more goodies….. but only a few. Look forward to seeing you. This favourite vase has been sold but I do have one other that’s very similar left and more coming 😍
Only 4 more days until the Kapiti Coast Art Trail kicks off….. it’s been a whirlwind couple of months with every weekend devoted to clearing out the double garage (which was full of items stored from the build of two houses, household effects, children’s toys, tools etc…. You get the idea). Lining the garage walls and generally getting it in to a state that is passable to display Sally ‘s work as well as my own. If you are around the Kapiti Coast over the next 2 weekends 4-5th and 11-12th November do call in. We’d love to see you.
Pop of colour !

I found my beautiful orchid stem with buds broken and lying on the coffee table last night😭. I won’t name any names as I have no proof but feel that it may have been a tail incident courtesy of the family 🐕🐾 . Hmm ….
Podds aren’t just for flowers….
Blue hues today …
A new underglaze for me… I didn’t realise this one had a gloss until I opened the kiln. I’m kinda a matt person myself so I’m not sure ? I think I like the richness of the colour on the black 🤔hmmm ?
A few pieces for the Kapiti Coast Art Trail 2023.
I love LEGO!! And flowers. Imagine my excitement when my daughter introduced me to Lego wild flowers 🌸 and they do an orchard too!!
