Last weekend at Shannonville Motorsport Park saw the end of the 2022 Ontario Time Attack season and a great one it was. Although we went into it 2nd in class, and 7th overall, unfortunately we didn't finish that way. In the first timed session on Saturday, Gennie got loose in turn 7 of the Pro circuit because tires were cold, and we were pushing a little too hard. To avoid spinning out, we took a ride in the grass, only to be met with a very deep "trench" beside one of the other tracks configurations. This caused 3 bent wheels, and a severely damaged oil pan. All this prevented us from finishing the weekend, which meant no points. In the end, we finished the season 5th in GT-A class, and 26th overall. Not what we wanted, but it is what it is.

We want to congratulate Phillip Williams-Oliveira on this 2022 GT-A win. It was fun chasing this great competitor all season. Also congrats to Chris Paczynski for the overall championship.

MAMBA Motorsports will be taken a hiatus for a couple years. We'll see what the future holds.

We're still hanging on to 7th place in the overall championship standings. Points are tight between the 6-9 place position. If we really great weekend at the Shannonville double-header in Sept, we might be able to move up to 6th.

Another great day at on the circuit. Managed another podium 3rd place, but best of all, a PB time of 1:20.1 which is half a second faster than my previous time, even in the heat. Gennie ran perfectly as usual. Even with almost 210,000 kms on the clock, original engine, turbo, and trans, just keeps on ticking.

Here's some photos from last weekend at Mosport International Raceway with the lapping day and OTA competition on Sunday. Like was previously mentioned, we weren't successful for a podium but very happy how the car performed all weekend, and nothing broke. Next event we're back to the home track of Toronto Motorsports Park on August 13.

Just a quick update from this past weekend at Mosport GP. We didn’t make the podium on PAX unfortunately, but we did managed 2nd fastest lap in class with a 1:36.9 in the last session. Car ran flawlessly but the driver needed a little bigger stuggots. We finished 7th in a class of 22 competitors so it wasn’t a bad weekend at all and a 1:36 is pretty respectable for a Genesis Coupe.

Off to Mosport GP track this weekend. Our favorite, and the only track with a real danger element if things go wrong. Practice lapping on Saturday and competition on Sunday!

This past Saturday was Event #2 of Ontario Time Attack at Toronto Motorsport Park , Cayuga ON. We struggled most of the day from self-inflicted handling issues, but once it was resolved, we managed another class 3rd podium finish in the last session out of a 13 car class with a time of 1:20.808, missing 2nd place by a mere 0.04 seconds. Looking forward to the next event at Mosport International Raceway where you need HP & balls, and luckily, I have both. 😁

OTA May 2022 - Morning Practice Session 3 This was the last morning practice session for the 1st OTA event in 2022 at Mosport DDT track. This is a 1:33.3 lap, and we managed a 1:32.9 in competition,...

Overall we had a great weekend and managed a class podium finish out of 13 competitors! This is a decent finish considering our first time on this track in 13 years, and on a different configuration at that. We learned that the car has a few more bugs to iron out before the next event, and due to track issues, only had 1 hot lap on the 2nd session. We ended up with a 1:32.9 sec lap, but the car has a low 1:32 in it for sure.

Next event is at Toronto Motorsports Park, our home track, June 11th.
