a year ago i was lying in front of my psychiatrist's office at northwestern totally debilitated by paranoia and auditory hallucinations during a mixed episode that was likely caused by bupropion (works for lots of ppl, just not me) and some tough life events
my psychiatrist said he knew it was circumstantial and i'd get through it, and that he'd fight to keep my top surgery date because he knew how much i needed it
2 psychiatrist letters, 2 therapist letters, and an academic reference later, insurance gave me the thumbs up. and now....i'll be 6 months post-op on may 17 🎈i am lucky
so incredibly grateful for my friends, colleagues, and health providers who have stuck with me through all of this. finally, things feel good again. ☺️

a month post op, nips are still gnarly af, and i couldn't be happier. even though i'm grateful to be slowly getting my arm mobility back, i'll take this life over bo***es life all day every day.
