It will be quiet here for a while...

Despite the great start I made with DX4 and C9 (which are going very well by the way), my body still stopped me.

How it started? Pain in shoulders -> radiation to the neck -> more migraine -> poor sleep -> exhausted... A vicious circle. But I kept going anyway... It would pass. Not.😔

Another wise lesson: listen to your body. And although I thought I was already doing this, apparently not good enough. So as per doctor's orders: resting for a few weeks. And that is what I'm going to do.

I started this page to take you on my journey to more self-care. And even though I'm 53, I'm still searching. In the meantime new things have come my way, which I will look further into. So...it won't stay quiet here.😁

But for now: resting and relaxing. Enjoy spring and the sun. See you soon!

DX4 ~ Day 3

Yay! My first meal today. A large green salad.

Why green (leafy) vegetables?
- You can eat them unlimitedly
- Contain a lot of fiber which is good for your digestion
- Give you a long-lasting feeling of satiety
- Are full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants
- The magnesium gives you an energy boost
- They help produce the happiness hormone serotonin

What's on my plate now?
- Young green and red lettuce
- Young spinach
- Watercress
- Cress
- Cauliflower
- Green pepper
- Green asparagus
- Sprouts of leek, red radish and alfalfa
Extra toppings: avocado, chickpeas and beetroot. And a dressing made from aloe vera gel, oil and lemon.

This certainly made me happy!! Enjoy!!😋😋

Migraine....

It comes suddenly and lasts for 3 days. For me it's usually at the start of the weekend. I've learned to live with it. But every time it takes so much of my energy. Not only physically but also mentally.😖😣 Do you recognize it?

I have learned to listen to my body. What am I trying to do when it hits me?
- I try to rest a lot. I take my medication and try to get some sleep during the day.
- Drinking water is also important. I really should do it now, but it stays difficult for me.
- Get some fresh air. Even though the energy isn't really there, I still try to go for a walk. Yesterday I also took my bike. The fresh air feels so good.

If you have never had migraine, it is difficult to understand how someone feels. For those who do recognize it: what do you do if it happens to you again? Tips are welcome.

CLEAR YOUR MIND

I used to think walking wasn't something for me. Until covid came... Thanks to a friend I learned how walking junctions work. And off I went.🥾🥾

I always walked on my own. It felt a bit strange at first. But gradually I learned to enjoy the environment and nature. My head also had to get used to it. At times I was so plunged in thoughts that I took the wrong way😁. But I discovered that walking not only gave me peace of mind but also new energy and new plans.

Until this summer. Then I discovered that walking in company is even more fun😁. Chatting about anything and everything, laughing, having fun. And sometimes something happens which we still laugh about weeks later. After such a long walk (we walk between 10 and 13 km) I am tired. But it does clear my mind and that gives new energy.💪 So walking turns out to be something for me.

Everyone clears her/his mind in their own way. What helps you?

Update on my DX4 and C9 adventure💪💪

Today I had planned a cheerful update about my DX4 and C9 adventure of the past 2 weeks. Unfortunately my hormones decided otherwise...

I'm now 52 and yes, "on my way" to menopause. So far without too many discomforts, except for an occasional irregular cycle. But now this has completely lost count...🥴🥴

Unfortunately for me this is accompanied by migraine and the additional discomfort. Anyone who has experienced migraines, knows how much energy it takes. So I have to listen to my body the next few days. Something I have learned to do in recent years and which is so important.

The weather outside invites to take things slower. And that's what I'm going to do. And that update? It sure is coming! Way too much to tell!😁

Despite the autumn weather, make it a warm and cozy weekend.🌧☔🍁🍂

Last day of C9.

The past days I have not only done a deep cleansing in my body. I am also cleaning up my house. This gives such a good feeling.

C9 does not only give peace and rest to my body, but also to my mind. And I really needed that.

Today I am on day 7 of C9. And I would like to tell you about a conversation I recently had.

This man was very interested in C9 and definitely wanted more information. Yes gentlemen, this page is also for you!😊

I told him about setting a goal for yourself, the importance of combining nutrition and exercising, my experiences. Until he suddenly said: "Hmmm, it probably won't be for me then."

Still somewhat surprised by his reaction (because of his enthusiasm at first), I asked him if he wanted to tell me the reason. "Yes, you have to do sports for 30 minutes every day. And I can't do that. I'm not an athlete."

His surprise however was even bigger when I told him that I don't exercise at all, my condition is quite near zero and that I am out of breath when I have to take the stairs to get 2 floors higher. And that I still manage to do C9 3 times a year, always with a more than positive result.

Because YES, you do need to MOVE 30 minutes a day. You are doing a major clean-up in your body. By drinking lots of water/tea AND exercising, your intestines keep functioning properly and waste can be removed from your body more quickly.

And NO, you should not suddenly hit the gym and start exercising like crazy. But do something that suits you and that makes you feel good. For me that's hiking, cycling (if the weather is not too bad😁) and I try to take the stairs instead of the elevator as much as possible. It can be that simple.

And my result of this C9? Only 2 more days to go.🤩🤩

C9 - day 2

Day 1 and 2 are the start of a major cleaning inside your body. But because I first did DX4, which is also a thorough cleansing, I can start immediately on day 3.

And that means.... a first real meal. On the menu: homemade quinoa burgers (with feta, lemon and mint) with a salad and spiced Greek yogurt. And I enjoyed it so much! I taste flavors more intense now.

I'm so glad I decided to take more care of myself. I already feel so much better, so much stronger, and I'm only halfway through these 13 days.😁💪

DX4 - day 4: emotions and tears...

No, it really is not always a happy picture... The big cleaning is in full swing. Not just in my body. But wow, also in my mind.

So emotional today, tears every now and then. It is intense, setting a personal goal and working through it in the following days. What obstacles and problems your goal may have, and what solutions you see. It really is working on yourself. But also learning to let go...

And although today was an emotional day, it still feels good. There is peace of mind. And that energy...? No idea where it has been all these months. But wow, it just keeps coming. My bloated feeling has gone too. And drinking 2 liters has never been so easy. DX4 was really so necessary for me. And what a huge success it was!

And now: let's move on to C9 from tomorrow!💪

DX4 - day 3

Yay! I passed the first 2 days!!

Today I got to eat a green salad. My first meal. Lots of different green veggies. So yummy! Wow, my flavors have become so much stronger!

And I can proudly say that I managed to drink 2 liters of water without any problems. Knowing that otherwise I hardly drink water, this is really quite an achievement for me. And that after only 2 days.💪

And the energy? It just keeps on coming!! What a great feeling! And I'm only on day 3.😁
