July 27 marks the anniversary of the Korean Armistice Agreement being signed and the ending of the war. It is known as the Korean War Veteran's Day and also the Korean War Armistice Day. This day honors the sacrifices of these veterans and their families.

Amelia Earhart was an American Aviator. She and her plane disappeared in July of 1937. They never did find the wreckage of her plane. She was declared lost at sea. To this day, it is still a major mystery.

Research what clues they have to suspect that her plane crashed somewhere over the Pacific. What was going on and how do we know? What did she do that was considered so great?

Myth: Homeschooling HAS to be expensive and Unaffordable.
Truth: It can be very affordable, including if you are on a tight budget.

Suggestions:
1. Check with your local library- See what resources they have and do they have special programs, etc for homeschoolers. Check out their interlibrary loan information and see if you can find some of the things you need through those resources.
2. Check with local homeschool groups/ organizations. These are people who are familiar with homeschooling in your area. They often know about resources that might help you or be able to suggest ways to get the items you need.
3. Look at Facebook groups that sell the curriculum you are looking for. This may mean joining a group that is only for that curriculum or even a more generalized group that sells a variety of homeschool items.

Never think homeschooling cannot be done because you do not have thousands of dollars to spend. There are other resources out there.

Today, it is all about a mind game. That's right. Chess is a mind game. Today we celebrate international chess day. Grabs some friends and play a game of chess. Better yet, since it is International Chess Day, go online and see how you match up with others around the world.

There is a little bit of a debate over when chess was actually invented. Depending on whom you ask, you may come up with a different time period and even a different location.

It's game day. It's Words with Friends Day. Play, and play some more. See how well you can do. Plus, children are learning to spell words and come up with words based on what they see. It is a win, win. So have fun and enjoy.
