Taking advantage of the beautiful weather and having therapy outside today! ☀️ Happy wednesday, everyone!
Huge accomplishment for this little cutie! She is officially G-tube free!! 👏🏻 👏🏻 She and her parents have worked so hard this past year. I am so proud of her and happy that I was able to be apart of her journey. ❤️
Little Pines Pediatric Therapy is growing! ✨ This past March, Ms. Reina, COTA has joined the team. Ms. Reina is SO wonderful and we are so lucky to have her.
In addition to growth spurts, did you know that infants go through mental leaps? Mental leaps are rapid mental developments in the growing brain. As a baby learns to uses their senses and perception, they take in more information and learn new skills. This is my youngest, Charlie, who is 3 months old and has purposefully reached and touched an object for the first time. Through play he is learning how to use his hands to explore objects around him.
⭐️ Putting the FUN into FUNCTION ⭐️
We are grateful for the opportunity to sponsor Bastrop Little League! This year we were able to sponsor the Challenger’s team and my son’s T-ball Team! Wishing everyone a fun baseball season! ⚾️ ❤️

Happy November everyone! Sorry I have been MIA from posting! I have been really busy and have hit capacity for my caseload. I don’t like putting anyone on the waitlist, but unfortunately it has to be done until I can find another awesome therapist!
I have some exciting plans in the work for our much needed area! I can’t wait to share with you all!
I have also got approved to take Dell Childrens Medicaid/Chip! Please reach out to me if you are inquiring about OT services so I can add you on the waitlist.
❤️
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all have a great week!
Looking for a cheap sensory play activity? Try using shaving cream! While playing in shaving cream, your child can work on many skills!
Some skills may include sensory processing, crossing midline, fine motor skills with finger isolation, and visual motor skills with imitating pre-writing stokes, shapes, letters and numbers!
🌟 SELF-REGULATION 🌟
Self-regulation skills are constantly addressed or worked on when receiving skilled occupational therapy services. Self-regulation is the process that your child’s brain goes through that gives them the ability to control their behaviors and emotions in response to given situation. It is having a skill to calm down when upset, being flexibility to change, maintaining attention or participation to a given task, and handing frustrations without highly emotional reactions.
Blowing bubbles is a great way for your child to learn how to breathe deeply. This fun and engaging task may create a calming effect for your child during a rough time.
SQUIGZ
A popular toy item that I like to use in occupational therapy sessions. Squigz can be used for all age groups! Using squigz can promote hand strength, bilateral coordination, reaching and grasping, weight bearing and much more! Squigz can also provide proprioceptive input and feedback to promote body awareness and self-regulation skill. This little guy here is working on some skills mentioned above. By incorporating a vertical surface such as a mirror, we are also working on strengthening our shoulder girdle and visual motor skills.
A Link of Squigz is provided in the comment section.

Hello everyone, this has been a long time coming! I am very excited to be a resource for our rural community. My name is Shannon Eizember Ramirez and I’m the founder and owner of Little Pines Pediatric Therapy, PLLC. I graduated with my Masters In Occupational Therapy in 2016 from the University of Texas Medical Branch. I have worked with the pediatric population since graduating OT school and have also worked in a variety of settings such as outpatient, early intervention, schools, and home health. I truly enjoy working with every child that comes my way no matter the diagnosis. I have taken a special interest in infant and toddler feeding. I am trained in SOS feeding and have also taken additional advanced workshops to increase my skill set. I recently became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) in hopes of working with breastfeeding dyads. I am also currently taking educational courses to become a Certified Primitive Reflex Clinical Specialist (CPRCS). I am also an online adjunct professor teaching anatomy and physiology courses at Grand Canyon University. On the personal side, I am a mom of two boys and have a growing hobby farm full of chickens, ducks and goats! I treat every patient as if they were my own. I am empathetic and compassionate and want not only the child but the family to succeed as well!
