Zenith Defy Classic.

Though Zenith is most well known for its impressive in-house El Primero chronograph calibers, the brand’s positioning as a master of accuracy predated the mighty El by a fair margin. In 1948, the brand’s Calibre 135 became a new industry benchmark of sorts, achieving chronometer specification and winning a string of over 200 awards.
Most notably, the hand-wound 19-jewel caliber was awarded 5 consecutive Neuchâtel Observatory chronometry prizes from 1950 to 1954—a winning streak previously unheard of in such a contested competition. Evolving over three iterations, the caliber remained in Zenith’s production line consistently through until 1962

Iconic Watches - Breitling NaviTimer

There is no watch currently in production that is more associated with flight and pilots more than the Navitimer. And with a good reason.

U.S Airforce Pilots use it to do calculations on it thanks to the Navitimer’s most recognizable feature, the navigation computer, a circular slide rule located on the rotating bezel that a pilot can use to handle all calculations they need to make in order to prepare a flight(airspeed rate, time of climb, descend, and fuel consuption functions plus kilometer-nautical mile and gallon-liter fuel conversion functions). This Navigation Computer has been present on every Navitimer Breitling had ever produced and is regarded as the heart of this tool watch’s popularity

But the Navitimer was not the first watch that featured a slide rule, the honor belongs to the Chronomat that was launched in 1942. The circular slide rule helped make Breitling the pilot watch’s company.

Breitling also partnered with Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association to develop the Breitling Navitimer cronograph in the 1950’s, later to be launched for the public in 1954. The AOPA adopted the Breitling Navitimer as their main watch. The partnership with AOPA, the brand’s image, brand endorsements and the watch’s ability made the Navitimer the watch to go for the pilots around the world. @ Geneva, Switzerland

The Jubilee bracelet is in my opinion the second best bracelet made by Rolex after the Presidential, that’s why I decided to go deeper and find out the origins of this bracelet.
-
The Jubilee bracelet was uncovered by Rolex in 1945 to honor their 40th anniversary. It was meant to be exclusively made for the Datejust line, but over the years, it became available for other models of the Oyster collection.
-
Rolex have improved and redefined the bracelet but kept the same design. At first it was only available in solid gold but over time it became available in two-tone and steel variants, the reson beign that the Presidental had took the place of Rolex’s premiere bracelet option when the unvealing took place in 1950. Today the Jubilee is made in all metals except full gold and platinum.
-
The Jubilee is also offered for professional watches too, for example the GMT, respectively GMT II.
-
The bracelet is a mixture between the Oyster and the Presidential bracelets, beign less sporty than the Oyster but not as elegant as the Presidential, which in my opinion is the absolute sweetspot.
-

The Jubilee bracelet has a five-piece, semi-circular link design, which appears as more luxurious and elegant than the Oyster because of having 5 links instead of 3. The increased number of links also mean that the Jubilee bracelet catches the light beautifully and almost looks like a piece of jewelry in itself.
This design has come to become so iconic that it is a bracelet that you immediately associate with Rolex.

The three middle-links on the Jubilee bracelet are polished, and the links on each side are brushed. The sides of the bracelet are polished, and the inside is brushed. The Jubilee bracelet links are flat on the inside, which makes the bracelet sit more snug against the wrist which really is a great design feature.

Here we have a Breitling for Bentley GMT V8 made in 2012 for the latest Bentley Continental.
-
I love the contrast between the red and the deep black dial and personally I love when a watch has city names around the dial, so this watch hits the sweet spot for me. It’s quite a big watch coming in at 49mm but I belive if it was smaller it would not have the same effect
-
Only 250 pieces were made, the watch costing $10,000.
This beast is powered by a Breitling Calibre 47B movement which sadly I have no information if it’s in house or not, but considering it’s Breitling, probably not. @ Breitling

The Nautilus is Patek Philippe’s most popular and sought after model, especially the 5711/1A but the story behind this watch is not as prestigious as you think.
-
It was designed in 5 minutes by Gerald Genta. He got into details and said that his inspiration came when he was sitting in a restaurant, he looked at the Patek Philippe executives eating at the other end of the room and got inspired. He put pen on paper and started sketching the watch. Knowing that the Stern family(PP’s owners) were enjoying sailing, the idea of the design was from the porthole of a transatlantic liner( a round window) The ‘ears’ on each side of the Nautilus were inspired by the oversized hinges of the watertight windows. That’s how a legendary timepiece came in existence. @ Geneva, Switzerland
