The Artistry of Kerry Smith
I am an artist whose medium includes wood and bronze and oil paint.
From a Flying Coopers Hawk that I did a few years back.
Yesterday I completed a life size Harris Hawk, carved out of Tupelo as well as the glove, sitting on a Redwood burl base.
Hmmmmm
Here is a close up of the carved shoveler dead mount that I recently completed..
Friends, here is a gathering of some of my projects from the summer until yesterday. The dead mount of a shoveler is the latest. There is a walking cane with a snake on it and a scaup decoy.
A couple of years ago, I wrote a book on my struggle with chronic pain. Here is the link below:

Found! Reflections for Those Walking the Lonely Path of Pain | C. Kerry Smith — Parson's Porch & Company I sat there, chilled by the morning air, looking at stars too numerous to count, listening to birds calling in the night filled woods and dwelling on the concept of God’s handiwork and now thinking about my own creative place in the star filled universe. I have a Masters of Divinity where I have s...
I have done a good deal of work on my website recently. Still a ways to go. www.thebirdcarver.com
The Creations of Kerry Smith Oil, Wood, Bronze, and Canvas
Lawns Are an Ecological Disaster Neil Tyson often conjectures that maybe aliens have concluded humans aren’t intelligent enough to contact. He’s probably referring to our capacity for war, but lawns may display our talent for fruitless carnage even better.

Bronze Sculptures Embracing the Journey
Blog A puzzle. Sometimes what we do starts out as a puzzle with all kinds of pieces.
This is a painting I created one long night after one of my hand surgeries. I entitled it Found! It is on the cover of my book "Found! Reflections for Those Walking the Lonely Path of Pain". https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/1946478261/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=found%21+Reflections+for+those+walking+the+lonely+path+of+pain+by+C.+Kerry+Smith&qid=1581277166&sr=8-1
A completed Coopers Hawk that I delivered. Needless to say I got more than one or two strange looks.
A Bronze Red Tailed Hawk that I created for a Labrynth.
A Great Horned Owl
A profile of a Coopers Hawk head I did a year or so ago.
A few years ago, I created this bronze sculpture for a Hospice House. It is entitled Embracing the Journey. I titled it so knowing that at lifes end, I believe God to reach down and pick us up, sit us on His knee, and assure us that we are welcomed. The man in the picture is the patriarch of the family that gave the money to fund this facility and the little girl is a great granddaughter that he never saw. It resides in a circular drive, out in front of the Hospice facility and many times, it is the last thing they will ever see before going in to the building.
