Moms & Tots // Tuesday mornings 10:30am-12pm // ending June 12
June is almost here and school supplies list with them for the new school year to come. Looking for a wayward to support disadvantaged youth in your community? Whether you are an individual, organization, business or a community group the Start Right Backpack might just be it.
Start Right Backpack Program was established in 2019 and has walked alongside nonprofits and the youth they serve
I have created and compiled a process document for the steps to run the program.
What the program accomplishes is supporting youth by bringing community together to support nonprofits frontline workers to build relationships with those they serve through our amazing sponsors!
Youth are equipped with all the resources needed to start their school year right. The backpacks supply them with all their requested school supplies and reduces the distribution of unneeded supplies. They are provided with their required first day of school outfit and lunch/snack needs or gift cards towards these items.
Students are given choices and in that a voice to choose and express their needs and likes.
Start Right Backpacks wants to empower youth to enter their school year with the resources that allow them to focus on building community and friendships when they start the school year.
Do you want to be part of empowering youth?
Please review the attached process document and decide for yourself.
Together we can accomplish great things!

To assist local community outreach workers in providing timely and effective services to those experiencing homelessness, the City of Abbotsford has created a new app, the Community Homelessness Information Application (CHIA).
CHIA allows frontline workers to track service delivery in encampments, access real-time bed inventory updates at shelters, and develop historical data to advocate for more resources. This new mobile, web and desktop application supports the City’s drive towards a robust Coordinated Access system of care for Abbotsford, and allows better coordination between service agencies and organizations, ultimately leading to improved support and access to housing.
