Hello my Oberlin Community! A few things.
1. There will be one more newsletter like this, and then I will no longer be serving on Council. If you would like to see something like this continue, call your new Council members.
2. I want to draw your attention to some of the recommendations for changes to the zoning code, in particular the new proposed fence regulations which would implement height restrictions. I am against these changes. To me, these kinds of laws feel like unnecessary micro-management of the unique lives of Oberlin residents. I don't mind changes that focus on safety.
3) There is a lot going on this month. I appreciate all who have tried to stay involved and informed. It helps us make wise decisions for our community. Thank you!

If you've been following the "On Council's Desk" newsletter, I'm sorry to say that Oberlin City Council will not be continuing that publication. As long as I continue to serve on Council, and hear from residents that this is a valuable communication, I will continue to produce it. Here's the latest edition.

Next Oberlin City Council Meeting, June 1, we will be voting on a car share program that would provide the city with two all electric vehicles available for rent at $8/hr.. They would be installed in central locations. Each car charging station would have one plug for the rental, and one for public use of other electric vehicles. Is this something you would like to see us invest in? Would you use it?
