Toolbox Education
Modern tools for modern problems. We run workshops for high school students teaching them relatable psychological tools useful for everyday situations
Have you ever played out a video in your mind of something embarrassing you did, or a joke you made that didn’t land, or something you regret saying? 🎥
For teens, this is happening all the time.
They’ll often walk around with that video playing on repeat in their heads.
One of our favourite workshops we run is Mental Movies, where we show students tools to deal with those movies and videos in our minds.
⏸️ How to pause the video and return to the world
↔️ How to create some distance from the video so that it’s not so intense
👥How to share your video with someone else to take the sting out of it
Looking for the perfect uni job, or know someone who is?
We are looking for people who:
🙋♂️ Have recently graduated from high school
🕺 Are charismatic, engaging and love working with people
🤟 Are looking for meaningful work alongside their studies
🧠 Are passionate about mental health
Rather than waiting for someone to see a psychologist, Toolbox Education pre-emptively teaches psychology's best tools to primary and high school students in fun and relatable ways.
As a casual facilitator working 1-2 days per week, you will travel to schools and deliver our 60min mental health workshops.

"Emotions are like emojis! 🤔😍😡😭
Just like how we have a dictionary of emojis on our phones, our bodies have a whole library of emotions that we can feel throughout the day!😯
That's why, when working with primary aged students, we teach them how to identify and label their emotions - anger, frustration, sadness, guilt - just like we would name an emoji popping up on our screens!😎
These emotions aren't "negative" or "bad" - they're just uncomfortable!👀 They're our body's way of sending us a message about how we feel.📣
By learning to spot these signals, we can better understand ourselves and navigate through life's ups and downs!🌟 Here are the Year 6s from putting their emotion ninja skills to the test and mapping out their emoji library!🧐💭🤔"
A busy few weeks on the road 🚗
Lots of lovely feedback from all our amazing schools!
Back at with the Year 7s as part of the wellbeing program.
An amazing school and so great to be a part of their day!
One of our most popular programs for Year 7s this year has been Emotion Regulation.
When a soft drink bottle is shaken up and opened, it will burst. The same goes for our bodies after we’re shaken up.
This workshop teaches student distress tolerance strategies from DBT designed to help them regulate their emotions in healthy ways.
Speaking with the Year 8 parents at De La Salle, we shared three tips for how to help when students are having anxious thoughts:
- Share the thought:
Encourage students to share what their mind is telling them about a situation. By sharing their thoughts out loud with someone they feel comfortable with, students can start to process their thoughts in a different way.
- Find evidence for the thought:
When students are overthinking, encourage them to find different pieces of evidence for why their thoughts might be true or not. Often when we build a story in our mind about a situation, we only look at reasons for why that thought is true. Embrace curiosity and see if they might acknowledge evidence for why their thoughts might not be entirely true.
- Look for what they’re ignoring:
See if there might be any ideas about the situation they are ignoring. Along with seeking out evidence for why their story or thoughts are true, students often ignore different ideas. Encourage them to think creatively about what might be affecting the situation.
We love when students really get involved and use the tools in our workshops.
We especially love this quote from and the way the students share their experiences ✨
We absolutely love each visit to ✨

We’re back!
Day 1 at with the Year 9s, the start of a big year ✨
Co-founders David and Ben sat down recently with from The School of Wellbeing podcast to discuss the concept of thinking traps.
The episode looks at different types of unhelpful thoughts that pop up throughout the day, a helpful metaphor to identify and notice these, and a set of strategies to catch these thoughts before they take a hold of you.
This episode is valuable for educators, students, parents and anyone looking to develop healthier thinking patterns and improve their relationships.

One of our newest workshops is called ‘Overcoming Procrastination’, which we run for the senior years.
It’s all about approaching the reasons we avoid different tasks, both at school and in life.
Ironically it took a while to write! 🤣
A snippet of teacher feedback about the impact .education has at schools
Always a pleasure working with

Today we brought on and trained 6 new amazing presenters who will have a big impact at schools around VIC - we can’t wait to see them start!
So often we get thoughts like ‘this person hates me’ or ‘I’m definitely going to fail’.
Instead of simply believing these thoughts, we can find evidence for why they may or may not be true.
When we find evidence for or against the thought, we start to realise that we don’t have to believe every thought, and they’re often not based in evidence!
Last week we took home the top prize at ’s Wellbeing Pitch Night, along with the people’s choice award! 🥇
A big thank you to the judges and the crowd who voted for Toolbox!
We’re so grateful to everyone who came out to support us and everyone following the journey 🙏
