So happy for Tyler placing 2nd and Grand Champion bred and owned with his heifer he raised at the 2022 Junior Beef Expo in Montgomery.

Forgot to post Tyler won Reserve Champion with his steer Dale Yeah at the BJ Rice Jackpot show in Wedowee,AL last weekend.

Congratulations to Heather Gladney with her steer she purchased from Crim Cattle. She won Reserve Champion at the Carl Peterson Memorial show today in Pensacola FL. She also was Reserve showman and Champion angus heifer.

Satisfied customer update we sold this bred Simangus cow back in August. Happy to share her new owner is pleased with her and the new bull calf she had.

This pasted weekend at the Mississippi Youth Expo in Jackson Mississippi Crim Cattle had 3 of our calves represented both Steers placing 2nd in their class and our heifer placing 1st.

Tyler Crim is in our Friday Spotlight today!

Tyler has just finished his 5th year as a 4-H’er and he is a member of our Livestock Club! He says, “Being a 4-H’er has taught me that I can do more than I ever thought I could. Showing cattle allows me to make memories with my family and make new friends from other counties in the state.”

We asked Tyler to explain what it takes to show cattle because it is a lot of work! He has outlined some of his responsibilities for both steers and heifers:
🍀Feeding—the right feeds & correct amounts are important
🍀Working their hair to make sure it will be ready for show days
🍀Showmanship prep—it takes a lot of practice for calves to be ready to walk into the show ring & set up as they need to be
🍀Practice!
🍀Monitoring growth & development—Tyler’s steer and heifers are his responsibility, and he takes excellent care of them!
🍀Mentoring others! Tyler and his family are helping other families get involved in cattle shows. Thank you for already “paying it forward!”

In addition to the cattle shows, Tyler has been a past member of the Livestock Quiz Bowl and Skill-a-thon teams for Tuscaloosa County. He has learned a great deal about animal sciences through those programs.

Tyler is a fun guy, and we appreciate him sharing about his 4-H Livestock experiences. Your family can contact us if you think your children would be interested in learning to show cattle as well!
