Join us for a Talk with Dr. Issam Eido this Sunday, April 21st at 3pm UTC.

Dr. Issam Eido is an Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and Director of Undergraduate Studies of the Department of Religious Studies at Vanderbilt University. Eido’s research focuses on the Qur’an and Ḥadīth Studies and Sufism. He also served as a lecturer in the faculty of Islamic Studies in the Department of Qur’an and Ḥadīth Studies at the University of Damascus. Eido is one of the main students of well-known muḥaddith Shaykh Nūr al-Dīın ʿItr. He will be teaching Hadith in Usul Academy’s newly-launched Islamic Foundations Diploma.

Shaykh Ahmed Hussein El Azhary is a scholar in Islamic intellectual history and traditional Islamic sciences. He currently holds the position of Visiting Fellow at the Tabah Foundation and is also the Director of Religious Affairs and Social Enterprise at MIJ International Hub and The Forgotten Souls. His contributions extend to founding Miftah Academy, offering specialized curricula in Islamic Psychology, and Qiyas Institute, providing courses in Islamic Philosophy and classical Islamic Logic.

After 10 months of online classes, our Academic Arabic students gathered in Istanbul for a 4-week Arabic immersion intensive, where they polished their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

The program culminated in a student conference, where students presented their research findings completely in Arabic.
