Rule 1: Do be in hurry to apply try to check what you qualify for , Remember you cannot study Diploma with admission to higher certificate or Bachelor with Admissiont to Diploma even if you have points required.

Rule 2: Ensure you have Certified ID copy and Certified Matric certificate

Rule 3: UNISA is online study so you can applh and study at comfortable of your home in 2025, NSFAS fund UNISA

Rule 4: You cannot apply for postgraduate , Advance diploma , Honour degree if you do not have your Undergraduate Qualification and also you must qualify for it.

Good morning Accommodation providers
Please ensure that all students in their accommodation establishments are onboarded on the myNSFAS accommodation portal.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) Board and Executive Management, led by the Acting Chairperson, Prof. Lourens Van Staden, will today brief members of the media on the registration process, payment of allowances and the student accommodation pilot project.

2024 registration for semester modules has been extended to 26 February, year modules to 22 March and M&D to 29 March 2024.

All NSFAS beneficiaries both at Universities and TVET Colleges will start receiving their allowances and transacting through the NSFAS bank card as of the 2023 academic year.

"The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will release application results for students who applied for funding for the first time and returning students on 06 February 2023. The funded list for continuing students was released today, 24 January 2023" Minister Blade Nzimande

Applications must be submitted via the NSFAS website: https://my.nsfas.org.za/

Your NSFAS application will not be considered if you

received NSFAS funding in 2022*.

have already completed an undergraduate degree or diploma.

are not a South African citizen.

need funding for a Short Learning Certificate or Programme or a postgraduate qualification.

*Students who have completed a higher certificate and will be starting a degree/diploma qualification in 2023 must re-apply for NSFAS funding.

2023 registration

Please visit the Unisa registration website for the registration dates: www.unisa.ac.za/register

Returning NSFAS students who were funded in 2022 but have not yet completed their qualification: Please ensure that you are temporarily registered during Unisa's registration period while waiting for NSFAS funding confirmation for the 2023 academic year.

Returning NSFAS students who received funding in 2022, have been declined for funding in 2023 but have appealed the decision: Please pay the minimum registration fee while you wait for the NSFAS appeal decision, if you chose to do so.

First-time NSFAS applicants: Please ensure that you are temporarily registered during Unisa's registration period while waiting for NSFAS funding confirmation. If your NSFAS application is declined or delayed by the time the registration period closes, you will be expected to find alternative funding before your registration will be activated.

If your NSFAS application is provisionally approved, you do not need to pay the minimum registration fee. Your registration will be automatically activated based on NSFAS funding confirmation received by Unisa.

2023 appeals

Appeals for new and continuing students will be open from 20 January 2023 to 20 February 2023.

All students are required to appeal directly to NSFAS via the myNSFAS portal.
