Kimbolton round one

Heat 1: 29th ⬆️ 21st (10 second penalty): had a decent start avoiding the turn one crash. From there fought my way up the field managing to get into 10th. But on final corner had contact with another driver which resulted in me getting a 10 second penalty and dropping down to 21st.

Heat 2: 1st ⬇️ 5th: kept 1st for the first 3 laps after having a good start. But from there got overtaken and started dropping back. Managed to hold a 5th though to get us as high as we could on the grid.

Final: 17th ⬆️ 8th: had a good start avoiding the crash at turn one. From there made up some more places. And on final lap managed to get one more place after a turn one move.

Overall a decent weekend considering I had never been to this track before and have plenty to learn about how to drive it. I would like to thank for the support for the mega power as always. Huge thanks to for being the best on the spanners.

PFI Ice Breaker ❄️

Qualifying: P12. Originally 2nd but got a penalty due to contact with another driver.

Heat 1: P6 ⬆️ P3. Had a decent start but going into hairpin I didn’t cover the corner so got sent, losing 4 places. But managed to go through the field and on the last lap into P3.

Heat 2: P6 🟰 P6 fastest lap 🟣 had a bad start on the outside, it was tough to get over to the inside so dropped down to 10th. From there managed to get back up to 6th. But kept making silly mistakes, costing me and my teammate time so didn’t have enough laps to catch the pack ahead.

Final: P7 ⬇️ P13: got pushed off at the start and dropped down to 27th. Climbed up the order while setting some fastest laps.

Overall not the greatest end to a weekend. But massive improvements made. Big thanks to for the help and for the data and coaching. Thanks to for being the 🐐 on the spanners. And mega thanks to for the amazing power as always.

PFI Festive Cup

Quali: P3 overall

Pre-final: 2nd ⬇️ 8th: due to snow in the morning we had no heats so it was a pre-final and final. In this race I struggled a lot for grip and that meant I struggled for pace. But I knew I just had to keep it on track to be through to the A final.

Final: 15th ⬆️ 8th: had a good start but going into the chicane on the first lap got smashed into the back hard but just about managed to keep it on track this meant we dropped down to 19th. From there done loads of overtaking and getting through the pack to finish 8th.

Overall a great weekend considering I haven’t been here in 8 months.

Massive thanks👇🏻

Clay Round 10

Heat 1: 13th ⬆️ 7th: on the wrong wets for the conditions as we thought the track was good enough for worn down wets. But started raining when we where out there so struggled for grip, still managed to get a decent result.

Heat 2: 6th ⬆️ 1st 🟣 fastest lap: had a mega start getting into P3 at turn one then going round the outside at horseshoe to get into the lead and from there set fastest lap and pulled a 6 second gap.

Heat 3: 9th ⬆️ 2nd 🟣 fastest lap: great start getting up into P2 on lap 4 was catching up to first but didn’t have enough laps.

Final: P2 ⬆️ P1: had a good start getting into P1. From there had a lot of pressure from 2nd place but managed to keep cool and keep first for the whole race to get my first win in the wet.

Mega thanks to all year for the support. And a huge thanks to .clinton for always bringing the best setups and being the best on the spanners. Big thank you too for the amazing power all year.

FEKC Round 9

Heat 1: 7th ⬆️ 1st: Had a mega start getting into P3 on lap 1. Then P2 on lap 3 behind my teammate . Slowly caught up with a clean pass for the lead and to win the heat.

Heat 2: 8th ⬆️ 2nd 🟣 fastest lap: had an OK start gaining only one place. From there battled hard through the field to P2

Heat 3: 17th ⬆️ 6th (5 second penalty): this race was tough as through turn one was full wet and everywhere else on the track dry. Battled hard through the field, it was hard to overtake due to turn one was unpredictable at times. But still managed a P6 finish.

Final: 2nd 🟰 2nd: had a good start getting into the lead lap one making a late overtake into bus stop. At the end of lap 2 there was a battenberg flag for a crash at penultimate corner. This meant the pack was bunched very close together, I needed to try and pull away. On the restart pulled a 3 tenth gap but next lap got overtaken. I knew I needed to work with the leader to secure 2nd in the championship. Pulled a 3 second gap with the leader to 3rd and finished P2.

I would like to say a massive thanks to for the support and .clinton for always having the best setups and being the best on the spanners. Thanks to for the mega motors.

CPKC Round 9

Heat 1: 9th ⬇️ DNF: had a good start. Managed to get up to 4th then had a collision with another driver and dropped to last, miles behind the next kart so pulled into the pitlane

Heat 2: 3rd ⬆️ 1st 🟣 fastest lap: good start getting into 2nd. Took the lead pulling an over 4 second gap.

Heat 3: 21st ⬆️ 9th 🟣 fastest lap: tough race trying to get through the pack and nearly getting wiped out at one point but managed to get 9th.

Final: 11th ⬆️ 1st (5 second due to nosecone) ⬇️ 4th 🟣 fastest lap: had a mega start up to 4th by lap 3. From there managed to get to 2nd pushed my hardest the whole race to catch but was having issues with my nosecone going into my wheel through hairpin causing my steering to act up. On the 2nd to last lap switchbacked the leader to take the lead and win.

Overall a good weekend, securing the championship with a round spare. Mega thanks to .clinton for being the best mechanic for the support for the mega power 🚀

Forest edge round 8

Heat 1: 4th ⬆️ 1st by 5.5 seconds 🟣 fastest lap: had a good start getting into 2nd then next lap taking the lead, building a comfortable gap

Heat 2: 19th ⬆️ 5th: had a meh start, pretty much staying where I started but progressed through the field to gain 14 positions and finish 5th.

Heat 3: 7th ⬆️ 4th 🟣 fastest lap: had a bad start getting shoved onto the grass and dropping down to 9th but got my head down to finish 4th.

Final: 3rd ⬇️ 4th: had a pretty bad start dropping to 4th as bogged hard at the start. Didn’t feel like the kart had any grip the whole race which resulted in not being able to pull off the corners or go down the straight so had to push 100% to try keep up with the top 3. Finished 4th.

Gained a decent haul of points in the championship, only 5 points behind 2nd. Thanks to .clinton for being the 🐐 on spanners for the support for the power.

Clay Pigeon round 8 🏆

Heat 1: 5th ⬆️ 1st: had an alright start staying in P5. But from there managed to overtake everyone and on lap 6 took the lead to pull a 1.48 second gap.

Heat 2: 10th ⬆️ 4th 🟣 fastest lap: this was my back start so knew I had to get on with it. Followed through the pack, finishing P4.

Heat 3: 5th ⬆️ 2nd 🟣 fastest lap: had a great start getting into 2nd on lap one. From there was catching down the leader but wasn’t enough to catch him.

Final: P1 🟰 P1: had a good start staying in P1 but had P2 close behind. But little by little I managed to pull a big enough gap from 2nd to secure 🥇

Great weekend extending my championship lead to 98 points! Big thanks to for the team support and .clinton for being the 🐐 on spanners. Big thanks to for the massive waft 🚀

After a successful weekend at Forest Edge, we’re looking to carry this momentum into for round 8 of the championship ☝🏼

Back for round 7

Heat 1: 5th ⬇️ DNF 🟣 fastest lap: good start getting into 3rd straight away. Caught the leader, had a good battle & started pulling away then my bumper came loose on lap 9 so had to pull in on lap 10.

Heat 2: 13th ⬆️ 2nd 🟣 fastest lap: had another great start getting into 6th but got pushed back a bit a couple laps later as got caught up in a tiny incident. Managed to push from 8th to 2nd with fastest lap.

Heat 3: 11th ⬆️ 1st (5 sec penalty for drop down) ⬇️ 9th 🟣 fastest lap: had a mega start getting into P7, next lap P4. Finished P1 but unfortunately had a nosecone so dropped to P9.

Final: 15th ⬆️ 1st (5 sec penalty for drop down) ⬇️ 5th 🟣 fastest lap: going into the final I knew I had the pace to win but also knew I needed to get a move on quickly. Had a great start getting into P8 avoiding a turn one incident. P4 on lap 5. Then caught down the leading pack and overtook 3rd then 2nd. Then had a good battle for the lead managed to get it and build a 1.3 second gap in 2 laps but it was too close to the end to build a big enough gap and due to nosecone ended in 5th.

Overall not the greatest round. Had loads of pace but having a DNF in heat 1 messed my weekend up a lot plus getting drop nosecones. Thanks to for the help and .clinton for being the best on the spanners. Thanks to for the insane power 🚀

Photos from Jack West Racing's post 21/08/2023

Clay Pigeon round 7

Heat 1: 24th ⬆️ 9th: had a good start gaining 5 positions from there came through the pack to finish 9th.

Heat 2: 10th ⬆️ 5th: not the best heat. Realised by this point my engine had lost a bit of power due to a crash the week before. Done the best I could.

Heat 3: 5th ⬆️ 4th: for this heat we had changed to our other motor as in the last one realised the motor we where using had lost power. Had a bad start dropping down to 11th. From there recovered it and managed to finish in 4th.

Final: 6th ⬆️ 2nd: had an alright start staying in 6th. From there battled hard to get to🥈

Now built an 83 point lead in the championship standings. Thanks to .clinton and well done to on the win🥇

Back at for round 6

Heat 1: 12th ⬆️ 8th: great start to 7th, next lap up to 6th. Caught the pack ahead of me then had a collision with a driver as I was up the inside and he turned in causing me to drop down to last. Got back up to 8th setting purple sectors along the way.

Heat 2: 3rd ⬆️ 1st: pushed away with my teammate having some great battles before eventually taking the lead.

Heat 3: 15th ⬆️ 2nd: had an amazing start getting up to 9th, cutting through the pack, got to 2nd but didn’t have enough time to get close enough to overtake the leader.

Final: 1st ⬇️ DNF: kept the lead into turn one and pulled out a 4 tenth gap. But I knew it was gonna be tricky keeping the gap as many of the front runners had a race younger tyre as for their heat it rained. Kept the lead for 10 laps, then at lap 11 driver behind drives over the top of me. This caused me to DNF as exhaust and radiator had fallen off as well my spark plug was bent in half.

Overall not the best finish to a successful day. I would like to thank .clinton for being the 🐐 on spanners and for insane power. Well done to on the win in senior.

Not the best ending 🏎️💥🤕

Heat 1: 19th ⬆️ 5th (drop nosecone) ⬇️ 12th: a good heat just making my way through the pack making hard overtakes and showing my racecraft.

Heat 2: 8th ⬆️ 1st: a great start going round the outside to get up to 3rd then overtaking second. Then final lap making an overtake at turn one to claim the win.

Heat 3: 18th ⬆️ 6th (1 lap penalty) ⬇️ 26th: had a bad start as someone had spun in the hairpin and I went flying into them. Luckily it didn’t mean I stopped on circuit and I stayed the same position. From there racing hard to get up to 6th. Then post race got a 1 lap penalty.

Super heat: 10th ⬆️ 4th 🟣fastest lap: due to the final heat it meant we where gonna start further back then we wanted too but I knew I had the pace to get to the front. Had a decent start then from there just overtaking and setting purples.

Final: 13th ⬇️ DNF: had a great start getting up to 7th and by lap 5 I was in 3rd. Then on lap 7 I got up to 2nd where I would stay all race till 2nd to last lap my wheel stubs snapped causing me to spin and go flying into a barrier at a high speed corner💥

Back at for Round 5 of the club championship.

Heat 1: 11th ⬆️ 3rd 🟣 fastest lap: middle start I knew I had the pace. First lap up to 4th then on lap 3 to 3rd and was chasing the leaders but didn’t have enough time.

Heat 2: 3rd ⬆️ 1st by 5.04 seconds: got up to the lead on lap 2 and from there built a gap and finished in a comfortable P1.

Heat 3: 16th ⬆️ 1st 🟣 fastest lap: this was my back start and I knew I had to get on with it fast. Lap 1 making up 8 positions into 8th then lap 2 making up 3 into 5th then next lap got to 3rd. From there caught up to the leaders and passed them on lap 6 pulling a comfortable gap.

Final: 1st ⬇️ 2nd: this meant I was on pole for the final. Kept 1st on lap 1 but on lap 2 got overtaken. Stayed in 2nd the whole race. Didn’t have the pace to keep up with the leader but still very good position🥈

🏆 P2 at UKC Round 4 🥈

Awesome weekend at resulting in my first national podium

Heat 1: 21st ⬆️ 9th 🟣 Fastest Lap: back start I knew I had to get on with it. Had a bad start as inside row slowed it down hard. Managed to come through the field whilst setting fastest lap.

Heat 2: 7th ⬆️ 2nd: this was my front start and I knew I had to try get to the front fast. By lap 4 into 2nd. Started to catch the leader but then I started making some errors so couldn’t catch him and finished P2.

Heat 3: 19th ⬇️ 27th (black flag): don’t really know what happened. Was running in 9th hadn’t had a collision with anyone all race and randomly got a black flag 🏴

Super heat: 7th ⬆️ 4th 🟣 Fastest lap: despite having a really bad final heat was 14th overall and started 7th for my super heat. I knew I had the pace and just needed to try get to the leaders. On lap 5 got to 4th and 1.7 seconds behind the leader. From there pushed setting fastest lap every lap and eventually caught 3rd and 2nd but by then it was last 2 laps and couldn’t do much.

Final: 11th ⬆️ 2nd: had a great start getting up to 8th on lap 1 then by lap 10 was in 6th and leaders only 1.8 seconds ahead. On lap 12 there was an incident with the leaders putting me into P3, it was a great race battling hard to finish P3 on track but P2 with penalties applied.

I would like to thank for being on the spanners and giving me the best setups for all the support and for the insane waft. Also a well done to on the win 🥇

Back at for Round 5 of the club championship and finally getting the team 1-2 with 🥇🥈

Heat 1: 17th ⬆️ 3rd 🟣 New Track record for this year : a good start, I knew I had the pace every lap.

Heat 2: 15th ⬆️ 4th 🟣 Fastest lap: pretty much the same as heat 1 making positions every lap and catching up to the lead pack from 2 seconds back. Finished 5th on track but after pens finished 4th.

Heat 3: 4th ⬆️ 1st: 5.46 seconds gap behind: was meant to start 4th but person in 2nd decided to go behind the leader. Had an amazing start taking the lead straight away and from there pulling away every lap.

Final: 1st 🟰 1st: 🟣 Fastest lap 3.29 second gap: didn’t have the greatest start dropped down to 2nd stayed there for 3 laps before making an amazing send into hairpin to take the lead. Pulled away even as the rain started to fall but on lap 8 the red flag came out due to an incident. On the restart started 1st and from there pulled a 3 second gap and setting purples 🥇

Overall a great weekend helping us pull away in the championship lead. Thanks to for the support .clinton for always being the best on the 🔧 and for the incredible waft 🔥

Junior Max Southern Vice Champ 2023 🏆

A great weekend competing in the Southern Championship

Forest edge SC plate day 1:
Heat 1: 18th ⬆️ 9th 🟣 good recovery drive, at the start got wiped out dropping to last.

Heat 2: 14th ⬆️ 5th 🟣 good result went helping towards final grid position.

Heat 3: 3rd ⬆️ 1st 🟣 didn’t have the greatest start staying in 3rd overtook to 1st pulling a 2.98 second gap.

Final: 4th ⬇️ 5th: great start moving up to 2nd, took lead into top corner but didn’t cover final corner dropped back.

Forest edge RD4 - SC plate day 2
Heat 1: 9th ⬆️ 1st 🟣 had a great start to 4th. Leaders were 1 second clear. Caught up & pulled 1.70 gap.

Heat 2: 3rd 🟰 3rd: as the grids where big there was an extra heat meaning some drivers got tyre advantage. Unlucky for me I was not one of the drivers. Got to P1 early on but couldn’t keep the new tyre runners behind.

Heat 3: 16th ⬆️ 6th 🟣had quite a bad start but came through field setting purples along the way.

Final: 3rd ⬆️ 2nd: had a 🫤 start dropping to 4th but managed to re claim 3rd and chased after the leaders. Caught up but just couldn’t overtake as they were both driving really well and times matching every lap. Finished 3rd on track but after pens moved up to 2nd 🥈

This meant we finished 2nd overall in Southern Championship, tying on points for 1st.

Very positive weekend and collected lots of FEKC championship points, currently sitting second.

Thanks to .clinton for being on the spanners for the support and for the incredible power. A massive well done to on the JM SC plate and on Inter SC 👏🏻

Back at for Round 3 of

I was super excited to back at a national competition and first time in a junior at this demanding track, showing great pace in practice.

Heat 1: 12th ⬆️ 5th: had a great start getting into 5th then stayed there whole race. I had to keep defending as we didn’t have a lot of grip due to someone’s rad leaking in front of us. Still a great finish for heat 1.

Heat 2: 27th ⬆️ 22nd (with dropnose) : this was my back start and I knew it was gonna be tough in such a competitive field. Whole race was a dog fight and very hard to overtake. Finished 17th on track but got a nosecone so finished 22nd.

Heat 3: 14th ⬆️ 10th: alright start to the race lost a place but then rest of the race had to battle hard to get a top 10 finish and we knew after that result we would be starting mid pack for super heat.

Super heat: 11th ⬆️ 5th: had a good start and managed to move up to 6th after lap 3. Had some great battles going up and down the field but head down I finished 5th.

Final: 11th ⬇️ 17th (penalty): had a good start holding my position then rest of the race I was battling in a train of about 8 karts. Managed to hold my nerve and finished 12th (on track) a very good result considering I hadn’t been to this track in a junior and haven’t raced national level for quite a while.

A big thanks to 🔧

We returned to to rack up some more points leading in the championship

Heat 1: P23 ⬆️ P10 - finished 6th on track but got nosecone. Good heat making my way through the pack and setting decent pace

Heat 2: P14 ⬆️ P6 - dropped down at the start, went round the outside but person ahead spark plug went so I had to try and get to the inside. Good race as came from back.

Heat 3: P1 ⬇️ P2 - started 1st kept first for couple laps then got overtaken by my teammate Just couldn’t keep up with him didn’t feel like I had enough pace.

Final: P6 ⬆️ P3 - bad start, dropped down to 7th then had to get my elbows out, got through pack ahead but by the time me and 3rd had cleared it 1st and 2nd where gone so I knew the best I could get is a 3rd. Stayed 4th the whole final till last lap backmarker got in the way of 3rd and I managed to get through. Luck was on our side for that 🤣
