Meet our purrfect little rescue kitty Astro! 🐱✨ We rescued him when he was just 2 months old. 🐾 At 6 months old it’s official: our house is his kingdom, and we’re just here to serve him 🏡👑

📌 Did you know that premature birth rates have been gradually increasing in the United States over the past few decades? This is a startling fact that reminds us of the importance of taking care of expectant mothers and babies. 💕👩🏾‍🍼

But despite the challenges, there's always hope! Preemies are fighters, and with the right medical care, love, and support, they can thrive and grow stronger with each passing day. 💫

Life's obstacles can be tough, but they serve as the ultimate test of our strength and resilience. Don't shy away from challenges - embrace them and use them as fuel to keep pushing forward. You never know what you're capable of until you give it a try 💫

As a pageant girl, I’m used to wearing a lot of makeup and presenting a “perfect” image. But today, I want to remind myself (and all of you!) that it’s important to be comfortable in your own skin, flaws and all. So here I am, showing off my natural hair and only wearing my signature red lipstick. And you know what? I feel beautiful! Let’s all take a moment to appreciate our natural beauty today 💜

~ The financial burden continues even after discharge, as preemie babies may require ongoing medical care and therapy.

I spent yesterday judging the Miss Northeast Texas Juneteenth Pageant in Mount Pleasant, Texas. All of the contestants were very impressive. Congratulations to the new Miss NETX Junior Miss Juneteenth and Miss NETX Juneteenth! ❤️💛💚🖤

Did you know an “adjusted age” is a preemie’s actual age minus the number of weeks he/she was born early? It takes 2-3 years for preemies to “catch up” to their actual age, but it can be (and usually is) longer. Even when you think your preemie baby has caught up with their adjusted age, it may come into play when it’s time to begin preschool or participate in extra-curricular activities.

Nurturing Tiny Hands is my platform, and I hold this organization near and dear to me. Being able to raise awareness for NTH makes my heart so full 💖

❌ Problem – Pre-term babies cause Pre-term parents
✅ Solution – Support parents and baby on transition home

Because of the cold and sterile environment of the NICU, parents are more aware of their infant’s mortality and are at greater risk of developing negative feelings, anxiety, and depression as parents. They are often not allowed to interact as much as a full-term baby. Less skin-to-skin time, less positive interaction with the baby. This can cause avoidance, intrusive thoughts, and loss of self-esteem for mothers and fathers as they are ushered into parenthood.

This is why Nurturing Tiny Hands is so important. Parents of pre-term babies need support - in and out of the hospital.

On this day, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice 🇺🇸

In honor of those who are no longer with us, I had the pleasure of serving my community at the Dallas Memorial March in their memory.

I was so happy to see my sister queen volunteering there, too!

I love when I’m able to bring the kiddos to volunteer events ♥️

The cause of premature birth can be a mystery. While there are certain risk factors that make a premature birth more likely, the cause often can’t be identified. Experts simply don’t know why healthy women without any known health issues sometimes give birth early.

This can be so frustrating for parents who have babies in the NICU. My platform, Nurturing Tiny Hands, helps alleviate the stress and fear families with premature babies face in the hospital by supplying care packages.

I hugged my babies extra tight tonight. My heart hurts. Please pray for everyone affected 💔💔💔
