Details of 'The Shaman Palm or My Pareidolia'. This painting began in mid-June. I painted the Shaman first, subsequently working in the desert world around it.

This is my latest larger work, entitled 'The Shaman Palm or My Pareidolia', 36"x 24", oil on canvas. My daughter lived in Eloy, Arizona for over a decade and on the long, flat desert road to her home, we passed this giant dead palm. All I could see was a stately Shaman, hence my pareidolia - the human quirk whereby we see one thing in another thing, like a bunny in clouds, or a face in a tree trunk. My daughter and her sons have moved to Evanston, IL, but the Shaman lives on. Thanks to my husband for the studio pic of me.

Featured: “Clearing the Fence”

This morning, I am delighted to relay that my oil painting, 'Central Park in Fall', was accepted into the Foundry Gallery's annual 'Artist's Choice Regional Juried Group Show', opening this Saturday from 4-6pm. Approximately 500 works were received from 90 artists, and the 32 chosen works will be on display from 8/2 - 9/1/2024. Do drop by if you can - the gallery is located in downtown DC. My thanks to the jurors and congratulations to the other artists - I look forward to seeing all at the opening.

'A Musing on Giant Oaks', 19"x 14", oil on Stratmore Paper for Oil. While waiting for next pass on current canvas on the easel, an energetic oil stick painting is a wonderful project.

I was so happy to see Heyseung Song during a downtown book talk and signing last night. Gotta love and be awed by both this artist's amazing painting *and* writing skills (Much like son ). And Heyseung's heart and warmth is so obviously infectious as well. I feel so honored and grateful to know her.

One of the beautiful aspects of Iceland's extraordinary vista are the moody back-lit clouds that drift across the landscape. This 40"x 30" work, oil on canvas, done a few years ago, is now in a private collection.
