āAngharad is back again with this fearless approach to accept themselves, to accept womanhood and the time thatās passed ā¦ This has been the year for Angharad, her sincerity comes to life through the music- the musician has this natural ability to provide connection within the tones, textures and the tales. Another affectionate arrangement that delivers the ultimate harmonic hook, the power of this ensemble blisters from start to finishā

Iām of the opinion that Instagram should be a gallery rather than a notice-board, but Iām going to break that rule today to let you know about an important event this week.
On Saturday Iāll be performing my first and last full-band gig of the year in Swansea. Weāll be supporting at so - as expected - thereās a limited amount of tickets left. If you do intend on coming grab your tickets NOW, THIS MINUTE, donāt hang about because it WILL SELL OUT. And Iād love to see you there.
Plus, just wanted to mention it again, because itās a big deal for me, but āI Donāt Know Howā has reached the Welsh A-List for the third consecutive week. As a new song-writer Iām amazed at how - in my mid-thirties - my music has taken this unexpected turn. I love hearing your comments about the track and how/when you heard it. Itās like a espresso shot after a sleepless night with a toddler. āļøš„šš¼
āI Donāt Know Howā is about beauty, aging and timeās effects on the body. Itās about being happy in your own skin, and where you are on lifeās trajectory.
It must be my age or my gender, but itās a topic which comes up a lot in conversation at the moment.
Here are the lyrics.
Itās a self-reflective little number, but āI Donāt Know Howā has made it onto the Welsh A-List for a second week. Super chuffed with this support from and .
Even some of the parents on the school yard have told me theyāve heard the track on the radio. Does that make me a cool Mam?
Would love to know if youāve heard it.
Itās been exciting hearing āI Donāt Know Howā across BBC Radio Wales this week. Thank you Adam, Bronwen, Behnaz, Bethan and any other presenters for championing my music. (You probably donāt realise quite how much of a boost it is to us song-writers to hear our music played on the air-waves!)
If you tuned in to Adam Waltonās show this week you would have heard me - as Artist of the Week (š³) - explaining that due to my current family circumstances, I canāt tour and make a living from music in the way I used to. So being championed and played on the radio is a more family-friendly way of reaching a new audience, thus enabling me to continue doing what I love doing. And Iām so unbelievably grateful.
The song is available to stream on all the usual platforms, or my following the link in my bio.
Have a lovely weekend everyone, what ever you are doing x

Thank you to Wales Arts Review for featuring āI Donāt Know Howā as Video of the Week!
The song is about the passing of time, and being happy in your own skin, and where you are on lifeās trajectory. It features three girls at different stages of their lives. Those three girls are me, my daughter and my mother.
We spent a lovely couple of hours in the summer filimg this in the park opposite my daughterās nursery. You have to be quick when working with a toddler!
Iām so grateful to Laurentina Miksys for being open to the challenge of filming and editing this video. This is the first video sheās ever produced! She is the true artist behind the making of this video.

2) 8:15 tomorrow at The Cellar Bar
You wonāt have seen us before, because weāve never played as a full band. But I can assure you - at the very least - it will be a memorable performance.
Playing this music live with a full band is a vision thatās held a residency in my mind for a good few years now, so Iām thrilled, and somewhat relieved that itās actually happening!
And letās be honest, thereās also part of me thatās looking forward to having a couple of days away from the kids, staying in a hotel, waking up naturally on my own accord, and enjoying some of the other great artists on this line up.
Enjoying a pint and a meal in peace or over some stimulating adult conversation will also be very welcome. See you there!

This will be a stripped back, intimate set with the brilliant Michael Blanchfield on keys. As itās just the two of us it will be quite different to the full band production.

Itās amazing what a bit of manifesting can do. Canāt believe that my first FULL BAND performance will be at . I remember watching this festival on tv last year when I was glued to the sofa feeding my baby, feeling like Iāll never perform again. What a difference a year makes. And what a line-up!

Feels good to get my first full radio interview in the bag, and who better to do the honours than the incredible Bronwen Lewis Music.
This went out on Sunday on her BBC Cymru Wales show, and Iām so incredibly grateful to her, Kate and the team for giving me a whopping 25 minutes of airtime to explain myself! Iāve been on quite a journey the last few years and it feels really important to back up my new music with some of the background.
Listen here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001pcc1?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile
Interview starts at 00:46:40. We cover everything from the songwriting process, motherhood, my musical influences and the healing power of music during the postnatal phase.
Bron was like a seasoned pro on the decks there at the BBC. Hard to believe that sheās only been doing this presenting job for a few months. Dal ati bach, tiān šand a total natural!
Itās World Breastfeeding Week 2023 and what better way to kick start this seven-day long celebration than with a band new episode of Dr Tracy Breathnach PhD podcast, Afterbirth.
I joined Tracy in conversation a couple of weeks ago following the release of my latest single āPostpartum,ā which ā if youāve not heard it yet ā is quite an ice-breaker!
We talk about the identity-shattering experience of becoming a mother and the incredible impact of music and singing on babies brains.
Tracyās podcast is educational, enlightening and comforting. I highly recommend delving into her other conversations.

Delighted to announce - with some disbelief - that my first ever live performance of this new material will be on the Settlement Stage at Green Man Festival on Wednesday 16th August.
I love this festival. Iāve attended over the years as both a punter and a performer.
When I started dreaming of an audience for this music, I made a list of all the stages, radio programmes, magazines and newspapers I wished to be featured on. Greenman was firmly on that list.
Iām not sure if itās because Iām a Mam to a 4 year old who believes in unicorns and fairies, but Iām slowing starting to believe in magic. Keep dreaming and manifesting, and sure enough, one day your dreams will come true.
Diolchiadau ENFAWR of course goes out to Libertino for curating such a delicious programme of music.
Who will be settling in and joining me in this beautiful corner of the Bannau Brycheiniog then?

It fills me with the greatest sadness that so many women feel they have to hide their pregnancies and their children to progress in their careers. I hear about it all the time, through friends and colleagues.
As the daughter of a musician, Iāve known all too well about the impact children can have on a musicianās career. Iāve been acutely aware of it, feared it in fact, even before I was ready to have children myself.
But rather than shy away from the fact I want a career in music AND have children, Iām facing it front on, and using my new found voice to tell the world about it.
I donāt care if you chose not to book me for a festival, a recording session or a creative collaboration, because these things need to be heard. It means far more to me to speak of my experiences, than losing out on some work.
I hope, perhpas, some of this musical material may help raise awareness, change and improve life for future generations of mother-musicians, and other creative freelancers. This is how we start making a more diverse and fairer society, right?

It happened! Out of nowhere, last night I got a message from a dear friend of mine to tell me that āPostpartumā was on .
Yes! I can tick that off the bucket list. And whatās more itās a song about breastfeeding and early motherhood.
Have you ever heard songs about these topics on the radio before? I certainly havenātā¦ but itās time we did! These experiences are so real and common for so many of us, itās part of LIFE ffs, yet because itās deemed āuncoolā itās just not brought up in popular song. I want to change that.
If you can relate to this, let me know. If youād like to hear your experiences as a mother on the airwaves, let me know. I kinda want to start a revolution!

Granted, āPostpartumā was never going to be a popular radio hit, but just check some of the praise the trackās been receiving. Itās enough to make a hormonal mother cry:
š¼ āPostpartum smashes the pink n fluffy romaticised myths around motherhood and exposes them instead, red and raw and dripping in hot painful detail.ā
š¼ āElectrifying and dominant, you will be moved by this rebellious and challenging creation.ā
š¼ āA propulsive and sonic exploration into the unspoken realities of childbirth and early motherhoodā¦ Angharadās unapologetic approach sets the stage for a thought-provoking and enlightening listening experience.ā
š¼ āThere are images on that song you will never forget. Itās fantastic. Singing about a subject thatās infrequently covered in popularsong, which makes it all the more effective. What an incredible arrangement and delivery too.ā

As we take these photos, my six-month old son is screaming on the floor the other side of the bath tub. Iām an anxious mess, chronically sleep-deprived, my nervous-system on overdrive.
Suberged by the warm, milky waters, my babyās cries become a muffled haze, and for a few moments I let the warm milk envelope my tired body and mind.
Laurentina, is looking down above me, with a camera in her hand. She snaps away between entertaining the baby, and swinging him up in the car seat to me. I sit up briefly, smile and distract him with a song, before returning to the job in hand. We work quickly.
We are both mothers, and both in persuit of a life of art and self-expression. We find it hard. But we are compelled to do it.
We want to be the voice for mothers. We are striving to be mother-artists, and we are doing everything can.
When we come together, as a community of creatives, of mothers, thatās when our voice is strongest. Our story is of love and pain, and it isnāt often heard. But, here we are.
Those difficult emotions, can be heard in āPostpartum.ā Now available to stream everywhere.
