Like I said in the previous post, we are busy planning our Fall Festival. Well here is an update on where we are at:

Date 10/26/2024
Location: Cherokee Fairgrounds, Calhoun, Ga
Food Vendor fee: $75
No food Vendor fee : $50

Like last year the money raised from the festival will be going towards the Masonic Home of Georgia to support our kids at the home and also to other Masonic charities. Last year we was able to make a good donation to the home and was able to help family in our community at Christmas.

This year we will be having a Jeep show with multiple catagories, we will put more out on this a little later.
Being close to Halloween we will be asking vendors and participants in the Jeep show to bring candy to hand out to kids that comes. We will have an an online sign up for the Jeep show which will be released later.

We want this to be a community event and want those in the community to be vendors where you can sell what you make or your services. If you want to be a part of the festival in this area let us know.

Also this year we are wanting there to be live entertainment, so if you are in the entertainment sector and would like to showcase your skills let us know.

Founded in 2022, the Muscular Dystrophy Relief Fund (MDRF) provides relief to children affected by muscular dystrophy to promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being by providing grants to cover medical, therapeutic, adaptive equipment, and other muscular dystrophy related costs. Referrals are initially reviewed by local Tall Cedars Forests (chapters), and forwarded to the TCF to make a final determination.

Local Forests or chapter of the Tall Cedars located throughout North, Central, and South America, review initial requests from families and providers, and if they determine that relief is warranted, they will forward the request to the Tall Cedars Foundation to make a final determination. Approved grants are dispersed directly to the provider/vendor providing the goods and or services described in the request.

The 7th Masonic District and the Scottish Rite gives out $1000 scholarships yearly to those students that apply and meets the requirements. After a Committee reviews the applications, depending on how much is raised, the students are presented the scholarships. Between the 7th Masonic District and the Valley of Atlanta they gave roughly $100,000.00 away this past year. We will be having a buckets out for folks to donate money that will go towards the upcoming year’s scholarships at the Fall Festival.

In the early 1950s in Colorado, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States initiated a program to help children with speech and language disorders. The results obtained from this program led to the establishment of RiteCare Scottish Rite Childhood Language Program (SRCLP) clinics to provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment of speech and language disorders, as well as learning disabilities.

Today, there are SRCLP clinics, centers, and special programs operating or planned for children and therapists located throughout the United States. Each facility is staffed by speech-language pathologists or other trained personnel. Through the support of Scottish Rite members, these clinics, centers, and programs continue to increase.

The value of this philanthropy has long been apparent. Tens of thousands of youngsters across the United States have been helped significantly. With the good work of dedicated clinicians and parents, the Scottish Rite has achieved successes that could only be imagined a few years back. Children who might have remained educationally behind for a lifetime can now talk, read, and lead productive lives.

We will have a bucket for donations at the Fall Festival, if you are business owner and would like to make a tax deductible donation please contact us.

Did you know that there is 8 Masonic Lodges in Gordon County? Our Brothers are from all aspects of backgrounds, from Judges, Teachers, Preachers, Law Enforcement, to Factory workers and other professions. At the Fall festival you will get to see us out and about doing what we do best, wanting to take care of our community. In the past we have supported the Community in various ways, donations to local schools, stockings for residents in nursing homes, collecting and donating luggage to the Foster care system for kids, sponsoring families for Christmas, and much much more. We may not be in front page news for what we do, but we do it because we care and not for credit. Interested in becoming a Freemason, well all you have to do is ask one. That’s right you have to ask, many folks believe that you must be asked.

All Lodges in Ga support our Children’s home located in Macon. The home houses, feeds, clothes, and provides education to the children that reside there. We even pay for secondary school if the children desires to further their education. The funds are managed by 12 Masons, one from each District, acting as trustees. When it comes time for the Fall Festival, the admission to enter will be by donations. All donations from the admission will go directly to the Children’s Home. If you are a business that would like to make a tax deductible donation, please reach out to the page and we will get you the paperwork for it.
