Hello Everyone 👋 As we approach the start of a new Young Farmers year, now is the time to join. Yet again, we have a super fun filled and busy year ahead of us for Furness 85th birthday year!

What an absolute pleasure it was to meet some of Furness Young Farmers last week at St Marys! We were thrilled to receive a cheque for the marvellous amount of £500, raised from a sponsored walk from Canal Foot to Chapel Island with "Guide of the Sands" Raymond Porter. On behalf of St Marys, we would like to give everyone who took part a GREAT BIG St Mary's thank you. 👏👏👏👏

Today Furness YFC have been at Hart Street Respite centre tidying up their garden space! We have been through 30 litres of paint along with a load of woochip and will be back to finish the job in a couple of weeks 👍

Another great result from team Furness 💛

Last Wednesday, our club enjoyed a tour of Tornado Wire Ltd Millom site. The team there were very welcoming and we were able to see all the different parts of the site and how the fencing wire is made. The night was very much enjoyed by all. Thank you to the team at Tornado Millom for giving up their time, they were amazing 💛🖤

A great night had by all!

What a fantastic evening we had last night hosting our annual bingo in Lindal! We had a brilliant turn out and managed to raise just over £1,500! Well done to our fantastic juniors who helped by serving tea, coffee and cake throughout the evening 💛 Thank you to everyone who donated prizes and helped behind the scented and thank you to everybody who came down to see us, we hope to see you all again next year 👍

A very big thank you to Ulverston Auction Mart for having us last week! The group enjoyed a tour of the auction and an auctioneering demonstration before they had a go in the auctioneering competition, well done to all those members who took part, fantastic effort 👍

Well done to Helen who guessed the name of this lovely calf correct and won the £20 prize! Big thank you to the Satterthwaites who lent us their beautiful calf, Bracken and donated the prize money too 💵

Furness Young Farmers will be there 🎉🎉 make sure you all come along and say hello to us there will be plenty to do on the stall 🚜🐏

Fantastic day at field day yesterday. Well done to everyone who competed and helped us to get the small club trophy, an amazing achievement. Thank you to every single member, parent and advisory for all your hard work and time this year, it has all payed off 💛

We are overwhelmed by the support of our members who have all contributed to this HUGE donation of necessities for the Ukraine 🇺🇦 Thank you all!
We will be dropping them off today, along with donations from other clubs across the county for the Furness Ukraine Appeal, who’s driver will be delivering them directly to the Polish/Ukraine border, setting off on Monday. You can follow his progress by going to their page.

We would like to thank the purple watch at Ulverston Blue Light Hub for having our club this afternoon! We are very lucky they gave up so much of their time to give us a farm and rural safety information talk, some CPR and Defib training, road safety talk and a tour round the engines. The team were called out after about 15 minutes and we thought we would have to reschedule but luckily for us they were back before parents had collected most of us and we could carry on 💪🏻

The purple watch are completing a three peak challenge next week in their full kit and breathing apparatus, details of how to sponser them to raise some money are on their page and we will have some more information at Wednesdays meeting - they really deserve it👍

The team are very interested in working more closely with farms and the farming community to ensure their farms are as protected as possible against fire damage. Their leader, Guy has years of experience in farming and is more than happy to carry out free farm visits to help anyone who would like to know what they are doing well and possibly what they need to change to ensure their farms are safe.

Big thanks to Robert and Patrick at Beckside Farm & Construction for giving us a tour of their buildings and parlour last night. Some seriously clever kit to be seen and we learned a lot, to be able to watch the rotary palour at work was fantastic - a very interesting night for us all, so thank you!

Huge thank you to Mathew at Ulverston Tyres for having us tonight, especially for being kind enough to supply some amazing food from Old Mill Bardsea! A great night had for all, thank you Sarah Slater for organising it!

Huge thank you to Nicola who came and held a Christmas floral arrangement night for us last week, think we definitely have some floristry talent in the group 🤪
