This old Dove call from the 70s was made in Austria, probably never used. Includes box & instructions. Box is a bit aged, but overall a great collectible.

This “overlooked” piece of equipment was carried by every member of the armed forces during World War 2 and if not on them, in first aid kits, aeronautical first aid kits, vehicle first aid kits. Applied with bravery by combat medics, navy corpsmen, a battle buddy, and those medical personal serving in front line positions.

The overlooked First-Aid Packet Carlisle Model “Carlisle bandage” was developed by the government to aid wounded personnel and increase a higher percentage of survival by hindering the introduction of infection.

World War I led to research that resulted in two antibiotics that saved thousands of lives in World War II, and many millions since.

These first aid packets are pressed brass, olive green and sealed with a pull tape. Each tin contains one wound dressing. These tins were issued from 1941 to 1943each containing sulfanilamide shaker envelopes. One tin would be kept inside the first aid pouch on the pistol belt, and sometimes an additional tin was carried in a pocket.
