You Are Enough

Hello! My name is Elizabeth! I created this page because I am ready to share my story and hope to help people out who are in similar situations! I am a single mother of two beautiful babies! I am also a survivor of domestic abuse!

I got pregnant at 18 with my daughter after dating her dad for just 3 short months!! Things were good. Yeah, he had a temper but was never mean to me. We felt a pressure to get married since we had a baby together. We got married in 2016 and had our second baby in 2017! Then everything changed. It was just little fights anymore it was full on verbal and emotional abuse! I didn’t think I was enough that I deserved it and I stayed. But it didn’t stop there. It soon became physical. It started with a push and pulling hair but turned into hiding bruises and not going in the public for weeks for things to heal. I was so embarrassed to tell anyone and he had me convinced no one would believe me. He told me he would kill my family if I tried to leave. I was completely terrified and didn’t know what to do! This went on for two years! It would be okay for a month or two and then get worse each time. It took him almost killing me to leave. And at one point I remember looking him in the eyes and saying just do it already because I can’t keep feeling this way. He had completely broke me and made me to believe I would never be enough. But I got out! I packed a bag, grabbed my kids, and left. It has been just over a year now and I finally have realized. I am enough! Just like every person who goes through this! You are enough!

The main purpose of this page is to bring awareness to domestic violence! To share our stories and hope to help someone get the courage to leave!
