We had a fun car delivery at Wichita High School North USD 259! This spunky little driver is Victoria and she loved her new freedom to cruise down the hallway!
Pre-engineering students in Ms. Hannah Kelderman's PLTW - Project Lead The Way class modified the car to custom-fit Victoria's needs. And several students were able to translate Spanish for Victoria's family during the delivery--thank you!

KUMed students taught North High sophomore students about POCUS (point of care ultrasound) today, and the students got the opportunity to test out an ultrasound device!

Congratulations to Wichita High School North USD 259 senior Grecia Nunez-Palomares, who has won the St. John Henry Newman Scholarship from Newman University! The scholarship, which covers full tuition, is the most competitive Newman University award, offered to only five high-achieving students each year.

Congratulations to senior Jennifer Renteria who has been awarded the Unsung Heroes Award from the Wichita Optimist Club this year.
This recognition is given to students who often donโt get recognized in the more typical ways (such as sports and academics) but who have demonstrated grit and determination in the face of hardship. She will be celebrated in a few weeks at their banquet and will be accompanied by her AVID teacher (and nominator), Mrs. Smith.
HOSA- Future Health Professionals members competed at Pitt State this week in health care related events. All competitors worked hard and represented North High and USD259 well. It was such a good experience for leadership skills, networking, job applications, and scholarships!

WPS College and Career Ready CTE
Dr. Smith, a physical therapist and professor at Wichita State University - College of Health Professions, taught the BioMed sophomores how to use goniometers to measure range of motion today as part of our Movement unit. ๐ช๐ผ
BioMed Seniors presented their BioMed Capstone Research Projects tonight. This is essentially their BioMed finale! After spring break, the seniors will shadow at Wesley Medical Center in various departments that match their interests. Congrats seniors!
