Delphos Fire Truck Museum
To educate the public on the Delphos Fire Truck Museum and raise funds to renovate the museum building and the fire truck
More progress on the roof. Thanks Michael Mesker and Mike Mesker.
The Fire Truck Museum is getting a new roof. I'm told it should be finished on Saturday.
Thank you to Michael Mesker, Mike Mesker and Shane Shugart (of Carter Lumber) for their hard work. And thank you to everyone who made donations.
We still have more work to do and that will begin/continue as the weather warms. We're also still accepting donations to finish the work and establish a nest egg for annual maintenance. You can send donations to:

A big Thank You to the Dienstberger Foundation for their generous $3,000 donation to the Delphos Fire Truck Museum Project.
An update on our project: Dan Edwards and many of his talented students at Vantage Vocational School have been hard at work making our 1927 fire truck shine like brand new. We can't wait to see the final results.
We still plan to improve the windows and the roof when the weather and funds permits. The interior will be painted and a new mural will be painted on the rear of the building.
Our goal is to finish in time to celebrate the Museum's 50th anniversary in August 2023.
And yes, we are still accepting donations. π
Our great crew of kids from Vantage have some of the Fire Truck parts fixed up, polished up and ready to go. BUT they're not done with all of them. So we need a place to temporarily store the pieces that are done. If anyone has an empty garage, storage building, warehouse space, etc... that we could use for a time please message us. The space just needs to be secure, dry and clean.
Please message us here if you can help! THANK YOU!!!!!
Thank you to Don and Nancy Schimmoeller for their donation in support of the Fire Truck Museum project.
Thank you to Sue Jettinghoff for your donation to the Fire Truck Museum Project. Sue's donation is in memory of her dad, Al Hilvers, who was a volunteer fireman for the City of Delphos.
Thank you Thomas Ernst for your donation to the Fire Truck Museum project.
Our talented crew hard at work. Not hard to see they love what they do.
Theses kids and their instructors spent more than three hours working on the fire truck tonight. These kids came in on their own time after working all day.
Thank you Sonja, Ian and Hunter and instructors Dan and Dan. π₯°
Hard at it. These kids are awesome!!!
Theyβre back at it. Prepping our fire truck for painting. If youβre running by tonight stop and take a peek.
A big Thank You to the Delphos VFW for their generous support for the Fire Truck Museum!!
A quiet Thank You to an anonymous donor to the Fire Truck Museum Rehab Project. π
Thank you to Deborah Mayes for her wonderful donation to the Fire Truck Rehab Project.
A heartfelt Thank You to Christine Hemly for her generous donation. Christine is the oldest granddaughter of Carl J. Imber, Delphos fire chief from 1955-1959.
We need to thank two of Delphos' finest. This morning Kelly North and Jan Miller spent an hour weeding the landscape bed in front of the Fire Truck Museum. With the rain and hot weather it was getting more than a bit jungley. Now it looks like the gardens at Versailles. Thank you ladies!!! π₯°
These wonderful ladies are also active members of the Green Thumb Garden Club of Delphos. There's always room for more members. π©βπΎπ©βπΎ
***Those of you who know Kelly know she's a bit shy so she took the pictures this morning and didn't get in one herself.

A big, big Thank You to Laurie Daley Gerdemann and Chuck Shumaker who came out early in the rain to help move the Fire Truck items from the Museum to my garage. With their help it only took a few minutes but their help was invaluable. π β€οΈ
We need a little help. When our Vantage students worked on the fire truck they removed some things that needed to go elsewhere so there was room to work. We put them in the Canal Museum temporarily but they need to be moved. I have a place to put them but I need help getting them from the Museum to my garage. A couple of strong people for about 30 minutes or so would really help. The fire truck items aren't all that heavy but a little awkward. If you can help please message us. We're pretty flexible on time. Thank you!!! π
Thank you to Charles Thitoff for his donation to the Fire Truck project.
We have a great group working on the Fire Truck. They've removed some things from the fire truck that are in their way and we are looking for somewhere to put those things until they're ready to put the fire truck together again.
If you have some extra space, "inside, dry and secure", that we can borrow for a few months to store these things please contact us. We need a space about 6'x12' to put everything. If you'd like to see what is there, everything is in the Canal Museum at the moment.
The Fire Truck Museum Rehab Project got off with a bang last night. We had a talented, dedicated crew come in to start rehabbing our 1927 fire truck.
Dan Kramer came in with Vantage Auto Collision instructor Dan Edwards and three of his students: Sonya Roeder, Maggie Cox and Ian Clevenger. They all spent FOUR hours working in a very hot building. Thank you to all!!! π₯°
***These were some very impressive, talented young people. Amazing to watch. The old people did well too. π
Thank you to Sue Wiechart and John and Ruth Roller for their donations to the Fire Truck Museum Project. Their generous donations are in honor of the Stan, Dave and Phil Wiechart families. π β€οΈ
The 1927 fire truck on the Gramm chassis is pretty cool in itself but this is probably the coolest part of all.
Donations for the Delphos Fire Truck Rehab Project are still being accepted. Just send your check made out to Fire Truck Museum to Fire Truck Museum, PO Box 112, Delphos Oh 45833. If you'd like to do a digital donation message me here.
Thanks to all who have donated so far. We're on our way but still have a ways to go.

Thank you to Irma Hilvers and Tina and Chris Link for their wonderful donations to the Fire Truck Museum Project.
We would like to thank everyone who has donated to the Fire Truck Museum Project so far. We have raised just over $3,300 so far and we are thrilled with the support.
We've started getting estimates on repairs to the Museum building and so far they're higher than we expected. We will accomplish as much as we can with what we have but if you have any family, friends, neighbors, etc... who are interested in supporting this project please encourage them to get involved. No amount is too big or too small. And if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact Michael Mesker or Bob Ebbeskotte and we'll try to answer them.
Thanks again for your generosity!!!
I think this article is describing the fire truck that we have. This article is from the January 12, 1929 Delphos Daily Herald.
