Clifton Park Republican Committee
A volunteer organization with a focus on supporting candidates for elective office
A question in a previous Town memo we posted recently resulted in a response from the Highway Superintendent. The area along Arnold Drive was cleared due to “obstructions of view for the safety of pedestrians and drivers.” So we grabbed a Google street view prior to the clearing work. Looks very open with unobstructed views. In fact, the tree line is far off the road.
Thank you to our wonderful Town and government leadership for the opportunity for everyone to celebrate the 4th of July! As you celebrate this weekend, please always keep our Veterans and current military personnel serving around the world in your thoughts!
At the recent Town Board Meeting a June 14th memo from Supervisor Barrett to the Highway Superintendent was discussed. Questions about how the Highway Department is using trucks and spending were raised again. Last year we posted pictures of how the town truck fleet was being abused and why contractors who use much larger vehicles made to haul asphalt material were not being used. Especially when new trucks take years to get after ordered. Due to many documented and publicized transgressions by the Highway Superintendent, Dahn Bull lost the Republican Primary. The Town formally had bids for lump sum prices for paving. Now the Superintendent picks and chooses using the County bid, which is a bid for use by the County for County DPW operations. Having a bid for the town for comparison purposes if nothing else seems more than reasonable. But Dahn Bull, who is now supported by the Democrats blamed private sector companies. He claimed at the board meeting professional truck drivers “are not dependable” and “give up at noon and say it’s to hot and leave the job.” He said he can’t do a town only bid because “the companies would shirk us off.” This is despite the fact the town historically would have several bidders on the lump sum bid and therefore could use multiple companies if absolutely necessary. Sounds similar to what we hear from politicians “there’s no inflation, it’s companies just gouging everyone” which we’ve heard over and over again. The blaming of private sector companies to cover up bad policy decisions is apparently becoming a trend. The last paragraph in the memo questions a situation along Arnold Drive. It will be interesting to follow that situation.
Due to concerns expressed by ardent Dems on our page about their sudden interest in wasteful government spending as it relates to renaming the Battlefield, we will dedicate some time toward pointing out questionable spending and deficits that continue to grow. Another executive order that is substantially growing deficits.
The park should be identified as a battlefield based on the actual historical significance of this hallowed ground. Great move by Supervisor Barrett and the Board of Supervisors!
Saratoga Co. looks to change historical park name The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors is asking National Park Services for a name change from Saratoga National Historical Park to Saratoga National Battlefield Park.
Another great tribute to our Veterans by Supervisor Barrett and the Town Board. The new Veterans Walkway was dedicated in November of 2023. For Memorial Day, 25 names were added to the walkway. The Town has a program where you can purchase an engraved brick to honor a Veteran.
Congratulations to the Town Board on the new Pickleball Complex for residents who participate in this very popular recreational activity. Construction began in 2023 and finished up recently. Another important investment in promoting outdoor, physical activity.
Thank you to Supervisor Barrett for this update on proactive laws in Clifton Park and Saratoga County. Very informative interview on WGY included.
Unlawful Property Intruder Law in Saratoga County The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors has now passed a law to address the spread of squatters taking over properties in New York and around the country. In April, the Town of Clifton Park instit…
Common sense, proactive action by Supervisor Barrett presenting legislation on both the Town and County levels to protect property owners from unlawful intrusions of homes. The lawlessness that is occurring in NYC continually makes it way Upstate eventually.
UNLAWFUL PROPERTY INTRUDER LAW
We have been following the recent growth in stories about squatters in different areas of the country assuming control of properties without an oral or written lease agreement and no invitation from the property owner to be present in the home. New York has experienced some of the most concerning examples of people entering a property and taking control of the home. Clearly the laws in place that pertain to this subject, to the extent the laws exist, are inadequate. Unless it is the intention of government entities to allow people who invade personal property to rival the rightful property owners for control of the property, more legislation is necessary from state governments. I have asked our County Attorneys to work with Town Attorneys for the Town of Clifton Park to initiate the process of establishing legislation that will protect Saratoga County residents. In Clifton Park we have begun the process of considering draft legislation for the Town Board to consider. Many of my colleagues on the Board of Supervisors are actively involved with assessing potential legislative options, due to their concern for their communities and the entire County. Working together I am confident we will have a final result that will protect all County property owners from the concerning trend of property invasion. Invading properties is now becoming a structured business endeavor. People are organizing to identify target properties and recruiting people to invade the identified property in a coordinated effort. The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors will aggressively work toward implementing solid legislation that will withstand challenges to the law that are sure to occur and allow our law enforcement to provide effective enforcement.
Great job by Town leadership planning for a busy April. Many opportunities for people in Clifton Park to donate, recycle, clean up or dispose of our unwanted stuff. All for free!
Our prayers and condolences go out to the families of the national guard members lost this weekend. The men and women who selflessly protect us represent the very best this country has to offer and we are praying for the families of all those involved.
Local National Guard members among those killed in Texas helicopter crash Casey Frankoski, a graduate of Columbia High School, and New York State Trooper John Grassia, of Schenectady, were named by officials as fatalities.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Assemblyman Smullen and his family on the heartbreaking loss of their son AJ. There is nothing more painful than the loss of a child and our entire committee is sending love and support during this incredibly difficult time.
Assemblyman's son, 14, dies two weeks after crash Assemblyman Robert Smullen's son, who was gravely injured in a crash Feb. 22, has died, the assemblyman announced on his page early Wednesday morning.
We send our congratulations to Councilwoman Reid on the birth of her son!!
Congratulations to Councilwoman Agatha Reid and husband John on the birth of their son. Councilwoman Reid extends her sincere appreciation for all of the kind thoughts expressed for her family during this time.
While we wait for the results of yesterday's election to become official, Jeffery Jones and the entire Clifton Park Republican Committee offer our congratulations to Agatha Reid for winning the most votes in the Town Board race. Chris O'Hara is locked in a very close race with two other candidates for the other board seat. Chris has dedicated his life to serving our country and his exceptional experience and qualifications have been invaluable to the Town. We also want to offer congratulations to Michael Traider who had a great showing as a first time candidate, especially as someone who has never been politically involved. Mike will continue to serve our Town. Phil Barrett earned another team as Town Supervisor and will now be joined by the talented Angela Thompson, who will make a a great addition as our new County Supervisor. Teresa Brobston was reelected as Town Clerk and will once again serve us all so capably and professionally. We are fortunate to have such a great team serving the people of our town and we thank all the voters for their support. The future is bright here in Clifton Park!
Election Day is tomorrow!! We are reposting these News reports. Elections are important. Unfortunately the Highway Superintendent has had many other transgressions since these reports as we have documented. He can’t even use legitimate campaign signs, still utilizing signs with a Republican logo.

The Clifton Park Republican team is out knocking on doors and talking issues with the people of Clifton Park. On Tuesday vote for Agatha Reid, Chris O’Hara, Angela Thompson, Phil Barrett, Teresa Brobston, Heather Brondi, and Mike Traider!
The Town Board has an upcoming Public Hearing on the preservation of another farm in Clifton Park. Supervisor Barrett and the Town Board have permanently preserved more than 1800 acres of property and exponentially expanded our parks network. Some of those new parks and nature preserves are listed below. No other municipality can match the Town’s record on parks, trails and protecting environmentally sensitive areas of our Town.
A couple days after this article in November of 2022, two Town Board Members resigned. Now after almost three years of wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars of tax payer money and thousands of hours of Town employee time, a report by a law firm that singled out Dahn Bull(the report is mentioned in this article) for being “inappropriate and unprofessional,” attempting to divide Town Hall and countless false personal smears of others the effort and partnership continues to this day as we showed in a post earlier this week. It’s time to put this ugly period of time behind us and move forward with stable leadership that has Proven Experience and Delivers Results!!

We recently posted information about the road paving list this year and the personal responsibility that is accepted by Highway Superintendents if they deviate from the approved list. The Town Board has also expressed frustration that hundreds of thousands of dollars the Board has allocated in recent years for paving and stormwater has not been spent on these two important areas by the Highway Superintendent. The Town has posted the results of this year’s paving results, which shows roads approved for paving were not done and a road not approved for paving was paved. Highway Superintendent Candidate Mike Traider has committed to planning the paving schedule very early in the year after the Town budget process is completed. As opposed to starting the process with the Town Board in July like the current Superintendent.

This page is an open exchange of opinions and is representative of the open and transparent government we have in Clifton Park. Everything we post is backed up by facts, figures and material that can be easily found. The Democrat Candidates for Town positions have appointed themselves the champions of transparency. More hypocrisy. The two pictures are screenshots of their two CLOSED social media pages. One is run by a former Town Board Member who resigned when it was found there were serious abuses of office related to trying to divide town hall employees and smear colleagues. A lengthy report about this episode in the Town’s history is on cliftonpark.org backed up by hundreds of pages of evidence. It also chronicles Highway Superintendent Dahn’s Bull partnership with the two Town Board Members who resigned a year ago. The partnership continues today. The Democrat candidates and the resignation crew working together to take over our Town. We don’t need to guess what will happen. We already experienced it. Dem Candidates—Not Transparent, Not Trustworthy, Not for Clifton Park.
On November 7th please support this outstanding team that will deliver results for Clifton Park families.
Clifton Park’s 2024 Preliminary Budget was released and this overview provides some important details. Thank you to Supervisor Barrett and the Town Board for stable leadership that continues an incredible fiscal record for Clifton Park. We have seen many times how bad leadership at any level of government can quickly turn things in negative direction. Clifton Park has experienced leadership that continues to deliver results each day!
Thank you for your support Senator!
Just some of the examples of misconduct in office by Highway Superintendent Dahn Bull. Good research opportunities before voting. Unfortunately there has been many more since these headlines were in news outlets.
Very simple expectations for a debate: what is the process for questions, all candidates should be able to participate and there should be provisions for maximum exposure of the debate to be viewed.
Malta, Clifton Park Republicans skipping voter forums Malta, Clifton Park Republicans skipping voter forums, frustrating Democrats who won’t...
Highway Superintendent Dahn Bull rolled out some more old signs that were paid for by this committee and have Republican markings. His new signs he has been using since he lost this Committee’s support and the Republican Primary, have no party markings. Since seeking and winning the support of the Democrat and Working Families Parties, he refuses to simply show his party affiliation on his campaign materials, while using Republican signs. More deceptive, disingenuous tactics trying to fool people.
Just about two years ago the Town Board allocated funding for six new Highway trucks. The trucks are used for various tasks, but the most important role they play is during the winter keeping the roads clear. With the apparent difficulty acquiring trucks, someone who is responsible for their trucking fleet would likely not work the trucks any more than necessary as we head into the Fall/Winter. Not the Highway Superintendent. On several recent paving projects, Highway trucks have run literally all day back and forth from an asphalt plant at Exit 12 to where the paving is taking place. Normally the asphalt is transported by the paving contractor who uses trucks much larger than the Town trucks. These are just some pictures of trucks that were caught on camera, that broke down. The Highway Superintendent is beating the fleet into submission. He is also not purchasing asphalt from the lowest bidder. Plus of the 8 people who have left Highway recently, 2 mechanics have left in the last couple weeks. When you pass a truck notice the black asphalt staining on the back of the truck.
Saratoga County once again lowers the property tax rate - Republican leadership once again delivering lower taxes and an outstanding quality of life.
More deceptive signs popping up all over Town with Dahn Bull trying to fool voters he received Republican support. He sought the Republican Committee’s support and his opponent Mike Traider received overwhelming support. Then Dahn forced a primary that he lost soundly to Mr. Traider. But that doesn’t stop him from using Republican signs. For his apologists, this will be honest mistake # 245.
