The Shondas
The Shondas are a rock/pop/punky/jammy band from Louisville, Ky.
Hi Friends, it's not long now until the Forest Radio Presents Homebrew Thursdays with Dave Serchuk and the Shondas with Yellow Cellophane ! It's December 14, with music starting at 7 pm.
I wanted to invite as many people as I possibly could because ... we are going to record this show, both audio and video! So you will have a chance to become a documented part of Shondas musical history, and it would be awesome if you could help make the recording as good as it can be.
Plus we are playing with Yellow Cellophane, who are a fantastic band.
All for $5. It'll be a gas, a party, and you'll be glad you came out. And we will be glad to see you!
Hey Friends, wanted to take a moment to keep you updated on how we're doing. We were so grateful that our Go Fund Me gave us enough money to record the songs on our album. So THANK YOU to everyone that supported us and helped. We started recording in July and have been back in several times. These things take time you know? Now we are ready to move into mixing and then mastering. It's been an amazing time, and we are very thankful for your support. This wouldn't have happened without you.
And when we're ready we would love to have a blowout album release party and of course everyone is invited. We'll have more on that to come as the album wrap edges closer to reality.
Talk to you soon!
Hello friends, I hope you're having a good shopping and holiday season!
We wanted to reach out because we are very excited about our upcoming show at the The Enchanted Forest & Music Hall. It is December 14 at 7 pm, and we are thrilled to perform with the excellent band Yellow Cellophane. (For real, check them out on Spotify, they're really good.)
Why are we so excited about the show? Well, this is a great venue, with great sound, and is really a place that values its artists and performers.
This means we're going to be able to play our best, and give the best show, with the best music we can.
As you probably know we play mainly original music so the support of our friends, and dare I say fans?, has been fantastic and life-affirming. It's not easy to go to a show with music you may have never heard before and still have a good time. So I am grateful for every single one of you.
Long story short (too late) I look forward to seeing you there Dec. 14, and hope we can chat, share a drink and get down. It'll be a great time.
Sincerely, The Shondas
Oh, and I'll link to the event page in the comments. If you've got a moment please check it out!

Tonight was just one of those nights where everything clicked from the first note, from sound check even. We had a wonderful time watching Go Girl and enjoyed drinking Fireballs with them. The latter would come back to haunt me (Dave) because I took a sip right before trying to sing our song "Murder By Proxy" and all that came out was a gasping wheeze, like someone having their first alcyhal in an old timey movie.
Our set was just so much fun. I'll repeat what I said live, we've never played a bad show at AIR DEVIL'S INN. Something about that place, the vibe, the sound, it's a great room, and the people that go to shows there really like to get down. It lead to us playing some of the best live music we've ever played, and it happened tonight.
So, we are happy and grateful for the opportunity. And look forward to next time.
Getting ready to rock ADI.
Go Girl rocking the stage!!
It was very nice seeing Chuck Baxter Friday night. He plays music and supports musicians. It's a good way to be.
Thank you for taking footage of the song "Underrated Girl".
Hi Everyone, we wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that came out last night to support us The Dream Iridescent and the Band. It was great seeing you, and we truly enjoyed playing at Never Say Die. So first, a big thanks to Never Say Die. This is a great venue, and their drinks are spectacular. You should go! Even when there's no show.
And we loved listening to The Dream Iridescent! I (Dave) am sorry there are no pictures, as I was too busy enjoying their set. Seriously, this is a fantastic band, and everyone should give them a listen.
And thank you to everyone in The Shondas, you played your hearts out, as you do every night!
Until next time!
So a few weeks back we happily played two sets at in Louisville. We basically played 90% of everything we knew, and threw in a few judicious covers as well. This is one of the covers, from a song we all love. It's "Super 8" by .

Peter Buck's pedalboard, taken by me, last night at The Baseball Project. A Rat distortion, a tuner and a JB Janglebox compressor. (This last bit seems almost a bit too on the nose.)
Mike Mills rig to the right. A Ric bass Orange lunchbox amp and a cab. That's it.
Really good time last night at the Louisville Fringe Festival, thank you to all that came out, you were a great crowd!
