Resolve Care
Residential Care,
CQC - Outstanding Rated
We heard a wonderful rumour that the weather is supposed to be lovely this weekend, so here is a snippet of some of our favourite 'sunny weekend' activities! What will you be getting up to?
Nothing quite blows away the cobwebs (and bitter disappointment of *that* match) like a trip to the beach. The boys are ready for their chippy tea!
The boys are ready - are you? Lots of excitement at both houses for this evening's match, we hope it's coming home!
Throwback to our coffee morning a few months ago and the delicious cakes, bakes and soup - we could do with a spot of that in this "Summer weather"..!
For those of you who don't speak 'Ralph', this particular look says 'Not a chance am I going out there in this weather, even for the good ball'!
Are we not bothering with summer this year, then?!
We love any excuse for a cake at Resolve, and of course, birthdays are the best excuse!
This is a small selection of the cakes we've enjoyed - which is your favourite?
Just Ralph, chilling on the sofa (without a cover, again!), with his tipple of choice. How will you be spending your weekend?
As we seek to reduce our impact on the environment, one change we have made is to provide an electric vehicle at each of our houses - so of course, we've installed EV chargers too!
Joining the team at Resolve isn't just about experience and knowledge, but individual personalities and shared beliefs. We've built our team in a considered and strategic way to ensure that every element of what we do stays true to our core values.
At Resolve we have developed our own model of care which we believe demonstrates how the highest possible levels of care can be delivered. In 2016 we published an academic paper detailing our model of care in the Journal of Intellectual Disabilities. It is our goal to influence other people working in the sector to attain this level of care and support.
Dear staff at Resolve Care,
Please find below our weekend wishlist.
🥎Ball throwing. Repeat.
🍦Some of those yummy doggy ice creams to keep us cool
😎Sunbathing in the garden
🦴Treats. Repeat.
Many thanks,
Archie and Ralph - Head and Deputy Head of Cuddles.

Working at Resolve is all about equality and teamwork. We have a flat structure and train our people according to our own care model, meaning that we have happy staff who can make a real difference to our service users' lives.
Low House is the first home we opened, converting it from an old farm house into a facility that is now rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
It has a large garden where we grow vegetables and fruit for consumption in the houses, and for sale locally.
It also has stunning views!
We are very lucky that every day is Take Your Dog to Work Day for us, but it's a great excuse to post some more pics of our best boys!
We're always on the lookout for dedicated carers who want to make a difference. Our team is made up of people of all ages and from all sorts of backgrounds - it's not the experience you have that makes you a great team member, but how passionate you are about improving the lives and wellbeing of our service users.

WE ARE MIGHTY HIKERS!
Warm, but not sunny, with a refreshing breeze - the weather for our Macmillan Cancer Support Mighty Hike yesterday couldn't have been better!
Up and out for an early start, clad head-to-toe in our green Mighty Hike merch, we hit the trail with smiles aplenty. The route was absolutely stunning, and we took many opportunities to appreciate the views (and catch our breath), and apart from a few slippery patches of mud, a couple of brutal inclines, and the odd narrow scramble, the going was fairly easy.
The team supported each other all the way round (as we knew they would), and the faster walkers even waited for the stragglers to catch up so that we could all cross the finish line together. 💚💙
Thank you to everyone who supported our efforts - we are over the moon to say that we raised over £4500 for Macmillan, which will fund a Macmillan Nurse for over 3 weeks!
The legs are a little sore today, but we are all buzzing with our achievement! What's next?!
🥳🥳🥳 We've done it!! 🥳🥳🥳
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to our Macmillan Cancer Support Mighty Hike fundraising efforts. We are absolutely over the moon to say that we have achieved our target of £4000 for this incredible charity.
We're looking forward to the event on Sunday, and your support will help to boost our morale if (when!) we need it.
Our JustGiving page (https://www.justgiving.com/team/resolve) will remain open for a short period for any further donations, but from all of us (and Macmillan), THANK YOU!!!
We're into the final few days of preparation for our Macmillan Cancer Support Mighty Hike, and thanks to the generosity of so many of our wonderful supporters, we are less than £180 away from our fundraising target of £4000!
We've loved reading the messages of support that have accompanied the donations - words such as "great cause", "good luck", "you've got this" and "go, go, go" will help us to find the strength to tackle yet another hill on Sunday. The donation accompanied by the message "Get that rescue Helicopter ready 🚁👍" made us giggle, too!
On average someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer at least every 90 seconds - please, if you can, help us to enable Macmillan Cancer Support be there for all of them. 🙏

As well as building on skills and enjoying activities at our two houses, our service users get involved with other activities such as bowling and go-karting - it's important to us that they can enjoy what the wider world has to offer.
When it's June but feels like March, there's nothing else for it than an after-lunch snooze.
Our Macmillan Cancer Support Mighty Hike takes place next Sunday, and we are so close to our fundraising total!
If you can and would like to, please consider adding to our JustGiving page - https://www.justgiving.com/team/resolve. We'd be very grateful for anything you can pledge.
We'll be getting more steps in over the weekend in preparation!
Lake District Mighty Hike 2024 Help Ann Hancock raise money to support Macmillan Cancer Support
We are dedicated to helping every service user to overcome the challenges they face in their lives in a caring, stable and welcoming environment.
"The service continued its drive for excellence across all areas and achieved national recognition for its work in developing people and the whole staff team. People, relatives, health, education and social care professionals continued to describe the service as exceptional and said care was extremely person-centred and responsive."
In case you don't speak Labrador, here the boys were asking (/pleading) for someone to join them in the garden with a ball for a few rounds of fetch. Of course we obliged - who could resist?!
We have very big decisions to make on Fridays:
Pizza or no pizza!
At Resolve, we are keen to support our staff and their changing needs, so have a deciated Menopause Champion on the team.
Sharon Kerr runs a menopause support group, a group text chat, and organises a coffee meet once a month, funded and supported by Resolve.
Are you spending some time in your garden this bank holiday? It's one of our favourite ways to spend a lazy Monday!
