With only two left until the next Home Room, it's time to reveal our special guest!
Sandy Melo, AKA Melo Yelo, has been taking Charlotte by storm bringing the world of 140 underground dubstep to the queen city. Since picking up the decks in 2019, Sandy has been support for massive bass acts including Digital Ethos, Eazybaked, and Ternion Sound.
His love for dubstep originated in 2017 at a Dubamine show. He enjoys paying homage to that first love by including Dubamine tracks in his live performances. He has also found major inspiration from artists like Caspa and The Widdler. A typical Melo Yelo set often includes reggae, r&b, hip-hop, and a heavy dose of dark underground dubstep.
What he enjoys most about performing is the ability to educate and introduce listeners to electronic music they didn't know existed. Steering away from the typical bro-step and hard-style, he hopes fans will gain a newfound love and appreciation for deep dubstep and perhaps even spark the creativity inside them.

This Saturday ChEM Lab will be kicking off the new year with a new event series: Home Room. At each gathering, we'll be experimenting with a different special guest DJ from the CLT scene to create a unique, multi-genre experience for you.
Please join us in welcoming our first special guest: Jade Butterfly!!
Jade fell in love with dance music at a very young age when a friend introduced her to the music of Robert Miles and she sought the underground to find more. After moving to Tallahassee for college, she finally found what she was looking for and was taken under the wing of some local DJs who mentored her and taught her the basics. 3 years later she was commanding dance floors all over Florida. She held a residency at the legendary Firestone and has opened for legends such as Carl Cox, Donald Glaude, as well as Florida's own Andy Hughes and Dave London. Over the years Jade had taken breaks to focus on her children and family but never lost her love for the dance floor. Her tastes have grown and evolved over the years but one thing has remained constant: she approaches every set as a conversation, sharing her feelings, thoughts, and heart with the dance floor through her music.

Up next we've got Senior Lecturer and Tenured Professor at Bassment University: Nat Black
Nat Blackβs enthusiasm behind the decks comes from his deep love of electronic music and the influences he has carried throughout his career. Born in the San Francisco Bay area he was exposed to the rebellious music of the Golden Gate scene growing up and took that spirit with him when he began to Dj as a teenager in Florida. Managing UrbandWax records in college, his love for underground music grew as he distilled his sound and perfected his technique with residencies at the legendary Simons/Soulhouse in Gainesville and SKY60 Orlando. Always pushing forward for his love of music, Nat earned his degree in Audio Engineering and began producing and working in recording studios in Miami in 2002. Following career opportunities Nat made his way to Charlotte in 2008 and quickly cemented himself in the Queen City scene when he partnered with Lora Campbell at Dharma Lounge Charlotte. Part owner and full time resident dj, Nat set the stage for some amazing parties that have made Dharma one of the legendary spaces in Charlotteβs nightlife history. Since Dharmaβs closing in 2014 he has continued to push the boundaries with the βTechNO You Didntβ parties at Crown Station and Bassment parties at Label Charlotte. Currently at partner and resident Dj at Bassment Charlotte, a basement venue featuring a Funktion One system installed and tuned by him. Always riding the line between serious and playful, Natβs sets span genres and his connection to the audience is what pushes him forward. When asked to classify his style he answered βI play other peopleβs music and sometimes my ownβ

Finally, it is our pleasure to introduce our headliner outside: Jvzmin
JVZMIN is certainly a person to turn heads. She began an interest in DJing at the age of 15. She was constantly experimenting with mash-ups and mixing to create a whole different sound to her ears. From 2004 to this current time, she has mastered the art of mixing as she discovered different technology. In 2019, JVZMIN would decide it was time to put the effort into creating her music. With dozens of mentors from the Defyre Audio Production School, she is progressing at a extraordinary pace with music production and sound design. Her first self-release, "Mr.Balloons", just shows how remarkable her learning curve is. After 4 months of heavy learning, she released "Mr.Balloons" on Soundcloud and now has over 12K plays and continues to increase in downloads to this day.
JVZMIN then released "Inhumane" which would mark the sound she is aiming for: Dark, Heavy, and In-Your-Face Basses that take you on a journey. She continues to this day to progress her midtempo, grungy sound and has quite a few unreleased tracks and collaborations. She continues to be motivated by her love for anime, video games, and movies, which you will find plenty of familiar samples in her songs.

Zer0βs career is a culmination of a lifetime of production from multiple platforms rolled up uniquely to connect everyone into their own happy place.
With his signature blend of funky house, glitch hop, and other aural goodies, he has become a staple within the east coast burning man scene. If you haven't run into him at a burn, you may have seen him slinging tunes during the Mardi Gras/Halloween parties at Castle McCulloch, or at the Zodiac parties here in Charlotte!

ChEM Lab would like to welcome Chad Moore to the team!
Chad Moore a.k.a. Hexxus, is a Charlotte, NC based DJ/producer who likes to explore the darker and deeper side of the Drum & Bass frequencies, while also incorporating moody and silky Liquid textures into the mix, along with a sprinkle of Hip hop to keep the vibes fresh.
Getting his start in Asheville, NC, Chad found his way into the music scene by helping run Psytrance festivals. He began attending different local events and regional burns, acquiring an ear for the good tracks in every genre, and creating his own music using modular synthesizers. He later moved to Charlotte where he was taken in by a group of artists and musicians, that helped educate him in the arts of mixing. Since then Chad has exploded onto the local music scene and performed at multiple festivals, including Hulaween and Equinox.
