Going after your goals, making life changes and overcoming limiting beliefs is not glamorous. It’s not working out in your cutest outfit in a picture perfect gym setting. It’s not countless hours meal prepping like a chef. It’s not walking around like everything is rainbows and butterflies all the time.
It’s hard. It’s getting a quick workout done in your living room. It’s choosing the better option on the menu when you really want the French fries. It’s saying no to the most amazing snicker doodles at a party. It’s choosing to drink water instead pop. It’s battling and working through insecurities that make you want to give up but instead choosing to learn and grow from them.
Going after your goals is scary because it’s messy. It brings up insecurities and self doubt we sometimes didn’t know we had. But it’s also empowering. It’s humbling. It creates struggle that is easier to just avoid. But that struggle creates strength and uncovers our true self that is hidden beneath the fear and doubt.
Don’t afraid to not be perfect. Don’t be afraid to workout in your living. Don’t be afraid to just start making better choices. Don’t be afraid to face your subconscious.

Our wellness goes way beyond exercise and nutrition! There’s 8 dimensions of Total Wellness and they all overlap. I call this “Wheel Power”.
When we struggle in one area it can effect the others. And when we are succeeding in one area that success shows up in other areas of our life! It’s powerful and we can use this to our advantage!

It can be a constant juggle to keep it balanced. But it will never be completely balanced. It’s impossible to give every single dimension equal amounts of energy. You have to evaluate and prioritize.

We start to feel overwhelmed when the energy we are giving does not line up with our priorities. For example, if we are working a ton of overtime then our family time (social) is compromised or we don’t have as much time for exercise (physical) or we lack sleep and feel exhausted (emotional).

Being able to recognize the cause of this overwhelm is crucial to our overall wellness. And then taking action to redistribute the energy.

However sometimes we also use the disturbance in other areas to justify why we lack in other areas.

Think about your own “Wheel Power”. What areas are sucking energy from you and disrupting other areas. Which areas need more energy? How could you prioritize your energy to empower your wellness?

Take away from a sermon this morning… We overestimate our sins and underestimate the power of Jesus!

So many times we feel unworthy of His love, grace and peace in our life. But He is Risen! His power can overcome our deepest inner negative self beliefs! Seriously He Rose from Dead for us!! Our worry, anxiety, self doubt, shame, guilt, etc has no power when we surrender it to Him!

You are loved unconditionally! Don’t forget that. I pray you remember that every time you feel less than.

Speaking of unconditional love and for the cuteness factor…. Happy Easter from Bam Bam!!

Coming home from vacation is never easy! And one of the hardest parts is re-focusing on your goals.
We tend to set goals and work really hard up to an event or a vacation but once that’s over, it’s over. Your wellness is not for life! Vacations and special events are just much needed breaks from the hustle and bustle. It’s a mental reset. Its actually just part of journey. Your wellness is not only about your physical appearance or number on the scale.
Other areas of wellness that a vacation impacts:
Social - relationships family and friends
Emotional - stress/anxiety reducer
Intellectual - learning and seeing new things
Environmental - warm weather, fresh air
Spiritual - time to slow down and connect and see God’s beauty

Your vacation isn’t a set back on your goals. It’s a boost to your overall wellness.

Now it’s up to you to re-focus and continue your journey! It’s a decision. That’s all!

Struggling with extra belly weight brought on by stress/anxiety? You’re done with the pity party and ready to take control back and refocus on your own physical AND mental wellness! You’re ready to feel confident again?
But exercise, eating right, habit change… it’s hard and can add more stress and overwhelm, right? It definitely can!
It’s so important to understand when trying to lose the extra belly fat, you have to approach it from a de-stressing angle. Your exercise, nutrition and habit changes NEED to be stress reducing!
It was a hard lesson for me to learn. I’d never had extra belly fat. But after going through a stressful and anxiety driven time in my life, I gained 40 lbs and a lot of it was in my belly. I was determined to lose it. But it wasn’t coming off by training the way I had before. I had to do things differently.
And the steps I took completely changed my life!
I had to learn to slow down! Exercise does not have to be an intense experience every single time. Learn to slow down, breath, connect to movement, celebrate your body, and feel joy.
Today I was so grateful for this beautiful weather. I did a 3 mile walk/jog, listened to the birds, and took in the fresh air.

Don’t overthink exercise!!! Pick a playlist, set a timer for 30 minutes and move.
Write down 9 exercises. Do each exercise for 1 minute. Rest for 1 minute. Then repeat 3 times!

Being your best self is about being your best everyday! You are amazing TODAY!

Our mindset is so focused on our future self. Trying to lose weight, make more money, find our partner, be closer to God, be smarter, get a promotion, etc all to be the best version of ourself someday!

In the meantime we diminish our current worth. We our reliant upon these milestones or goals on making us the better or the best version and so we think of ourselves as less than until we accomplish our goal.

But if we focus on being our best version today And building on that version everyday, then these accomplishments become a reality.

Be the best you today!!! Be proud of who you are today!!!

Practice each day writing down 10 things you are grateful for and it will naturally calm your body, promote love and shift your mindset about your life, day or current moment. And writing it down gives even greater connection to your mind and body!
