Missing the 🦆 a lot! This photo you see here is the only one from the only proper drive (with the people) that I have been able to make since July 23 😱😫… Shipment, registration (delayed during vacation times), awful weather and now some improvement works (also delayed because christmas) that keep it at the shop, have taken the u911y_duck away more time than the available to enjoy it! Hopefully he will be back soon and we can expend more miles together 💪

The u911y_duck is back to the continent where it was born, but I probably wouldn’t have brought him with me if I wasn’t sure that I have my old friends of Talleres Senin near to take care of him. Don’t let the small shop fool you… Daniel and his family crew are one of the more knowledgable and trustable mechanics that you can probably find 🙌
As you know, the 🦆 was already kept in top condition in the US by my friends of so this he is in for some long waited “cosmetics” upgrades… Stay tuned!!🦆🛞✨

Today is a bittersweet day... Thanksgiving is a day traditionally spent with family, and despite having returned back home after almost 7 years in the US, today we miss that second family we built there. Great day to reconnect with the euro youngtimer scene at the last week. If I would have to sayn something to the organizers (RACE), it would be that they have to bring up the last year of allowed cars (keep a fixed age of 25 or 30 years, instead a fixed year) because they are missing attendance of interesting models that have become already inti age.

front side markers to turn lights modification, window tint removal (it looks better imho)… and after technical inspection and documentation… is finally road legal!! ✅.
Unfortunately won’t be able to pick it until Monday…so… looong weekend ahead!! 😅🤪

Autumn is in full swing! 🍁 and it happens to be my favourite driving season. This week, I got 🦍back and If everything goes as planned, next week I will get the 🦆and the 🐜. One month and a half since they were unloaded at port (Sept 21st) and it seems that has been twice that time!!

Well, step by step things have been moving along 🦆➡️🆒. Adaptation “work” has been finished in all three cars (🦆🦍🐜)and next week they will head to .es to go through the technical inspection in order to obtain their “technical file” (a kind of ID of the car’s technical specs) that will be the submitted then to the DGT (DOT) to obtain the plates and register/insurance the cars. 🤪

When you import a car into Europe, you have to adapt it to EU specs. However, when you do it under a relocation conditions (like me in this case) only minor adaptations are required, mostly about the lights, that must meet EU standards (orange blinkers, rear fog light, no combined brake/turn light, etc). All in all, is a bit of nonsense: I can import a 996 with 19” or even could have done it a transplanted v8… but no red blinkers…
Anyway, in the case of the u911y_duck, as US models come already with mostly euro specs front and rear lights (for instance the conversion in the jeep has required more changes) the only modifications done have been, modify the front side markers to work as turn lights and remove the window tinting, only required in the front windows, but I always wanted to remove them all (didn’t do it before as it was convenient in the sunshine state).
Can’t wait ti drive it again!

I’ve already planned with my shop here to send the wheels to to have them resealed and refinished. Despite they are not bad at all, they are not perfect, so this is something that I have always had on my mind.

So far… these are the only ugly ducks that I get to see almost every day 😫
Still waiting for the C4S to be inspected and registered. I gave priority to the other 2 ones (🐜 and 🦍, I need them in a daily basis)… and you know when you say to a shop “no rush”… 🤦🏻‍♂️
