Take Back the Night was truly remarkable this year at Texas A&M’s Rec Center with multiple community, service, and student groups that came to support and speak out against domestic violence and support those who have fallen victim. We are so very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a touching event. If you missed us, come see us at the next event!

💜October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Did you know only 15% of domestic violence shelters accept pets? Purina and RedRover teamed up to create the Purple Leash Project to help make more pet-friendly domestic violence shelters across the country, so no one has to choose between their pet or safety. Spreading awareness and talking to bright undergraduate students intending to join the medical field was a delight this past Saturday. Thank you for having our organization represented at one of the booths at the Texas A&M Biomedical Sciences Fair!

💜We had the opportunity to share our mission with many veterinarians and technicians at Southwest Veterinary Symposium in Fort Worth, Texas this past weekend!! We heard from people who had seen the need for an organization like ours in their community and even the need for this organization in their own lives and the consequences they experienced as they didn’t have access for a place for their pets to go in their situation.

23/09/2022

We are at South West Veterinary Symposium this weekend to spread awareness about the LINK. If you are here, stop by and see us.

This month is national PTSD awareness month so let’s all remember the importance of trauma and the effect it can have on our friends and family. Although we are a resource for women with pets that need immediate help, we can’t forget the long term affects that their situations may pose on their lives thereafter.

📦💜This past month, we teamed up with WVLDI Texas A&M Student Chapter and Green Vets for a clothing drive to benefit Twin City Mission. Veterinary students donated countless bags of clothing and shoes and these officers helped transport it over this week! 👚👕👖👗

Thank you to the Women in Veterinary, Leadership Development Initiative, Green Vets, and Aggies Fostering Hope. Your donation was greatly appreciated.

We had our meeting last week where Dr. Snowden spoke on how we can impact the link as members of the veterinary community! Part of the way we can have an impact is by spreading the word about AFH so we’re having a social media contest for those that attended the meeting and you’ll be entered in a giveaway for this basket full of goodies! Here’s some examples for inspiration and we’ll add some of our submissions in the comments below⬇️

🩺🐾We're in Round Rock at the Texas Veterinary Medical Association conference sharing our mission with veterinarians from around our state! Educating the veterinary community about the link between domestic violence and animal abuse is a big part of our program and we hope you’ll stop by our booth if you’re at the conference too! 👋
