This is Bailey🦴🐶

Bailey doesn’t like the vet but we needed to test his urine.

Luckily we had a HygieCatch test kit to help us out.

This meant we didn’t need to leave our home to visit the vet so his urine could be tested.

We are now off to discuss his results with a PocketVet vet online!

🐾Get a urine sample in the collection device

🐶Test it using the test strip and results chart

👉🥵Swipe for our Extreme Heat Guide including some top tips from our vets for keeping your pets cool 🐾.

⚠️ Please note: if you are worried your pet has overheated, DO NOT use ice cold water to cool them down, rapid cooling is extremely dangerous. Pour small amounts of cooled (not cold) water over their body and call your vet immediately. DO NOT cover your pet in towels soaked in water as this only provides a few seconds of cooling before the towel will warm up and trap in heat.

Why we do what we do...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Obi's mum wrote to our wonderful vet Rachel to say thank you for her advice 🤍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We understand how important it is that when your pet is poorly, you have access to the very best vet care. Being an online service, we’ll never replace your local vet as sometimes a hands on examination is needed. Nevertheless, we strive to do everything we can to provide the best care possible so that pets and their owners have another option.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our vets are incredible and we are proud to have such a fantastic team 👩‍⚕️

RIP Obi ❤️🐾

On Sunday 3rd October, Nottingham Forest WFC will play their first ever league match at The City Ground against Derby County Women! Kick off is at 2pm ⚽
Derby currently hold the FA Women's Northern Premier League attendance, when just over 2,000 saw The Reds beat The Rams. With the demand for women’s football in Nottingham, the aim is to beat that record! 💪

Andy Cook, Forest Women coach, said: “I truly believe this could be a huge moment for many girls who will come and watch the likes of Lyndsey Harkin, Becky Anderson and Laura Jayne O'Neill and think “I want to do that. I can do that. I can play for Nottingham Forest like the men do and we can play in the biggest stadiums”.

With tickets at just £5, this is a must-see game! Come on girls, you can do it! 💪🌳🔴

⛔️❌Vitamin D in Dogs

Vitamin D is an essential nutrient for dogs however, ingestion of too much vitamin D is extremely toxic and can rapidly lead to kidney failure and other organ damage.

Vitamin D toxicity can be caused when dogs ingest vitamin D supplements or some skin treatments, such as psoriasis cream. Typical symptoms include lethargy, weakness, vomiting, abdominal pain, increased thirst and urination, muscle tremors and seizures.

With prompt and appropriate treatment, most animals will recover, although vitamin D toxicity can be fatal if significant quantities are eaten, particularly if treatment is delayed. If you are worried that your dog may have eaten anything containing vitamin D then please contact your vet ASAP.
