One for the Vault...

2020 Best of Greensboro 48HFP 02/08/2020

Our third and final award slide for the Summer 2020 project; overall, the project was successful, with good response from the judges, and good response from my TEAM.

They haven't fired me yet...

Kudos to the whole StumbleMuse/Greenpax (thus StumblePax) team, and thanks for another fine 48.

2020 Best of Greensboro 48HFP 02/08/2020

This was our "whimsical" award for this year's 48. Although, we were split on the "tone" of the kiss, as our piece was outwardly fairly serious, we figured a laugh was good; apparently, the judges thought the notion cute.

2020 Best of Greensboro 48HFP 02/08/2020

This was the first of 3 award slides (2 for craft, 1 for whimsy) that we received for this year's 48 Hour Film Project.

Credit to my editing staff, Louis Bekoe and Jonathan "JP" Preston for putting some really nice polish on our film.

So, after the 48 films had been reviewed and judged, we were pleased to win awards for Best Costumes and Best Special Effects.

Here are the cool slides that flashed when our awards were announced.

I love these.

It's that time of the year again, and in about 3 hours or so, I'll be beginning the weekend for my 18th entry in the 48 Hour Film Project. This is my 15th year in a row doing the Greensboro summer competition, with 2 Halloween entries, and one Charlotte entry as well. So, for try #18, I hope we pull a cool genre. I've got a great team assembled, and I'm excited to see what we do this year.

If we work hard, have fun, make something we are Proud of, that we turn in On Time, I'll consider it a success. The rest takes care of itself. Here's to the weekend of madness ahead.

Smoke-n-Mirrors 29/10/2018

So, after our relative success and fun in the 2018 Greensboro 48, when the opportunity presented itself to make a horror for the special Horror 48 competition, we decided to field an entry.

This was our take on "escape room" film; we kind of re-envisioned the concept, but I like how we approached the idea, I love the spooky feel, the strong performances, and amazing cinematography.

This is the StumblePax submission for the Greensboro Horror 48, "Smoke-n-Mirrors."

My kick-butt, awesome director, Ken Randall, won the Best Cinematography award for our entry.

Scam 29/10/2018

For the 2018 Summer 48 Hour Project, I joined forces with my dear friend, Ken Randall to create the StumblePax team; it was a neat blending of our team names, as Ken had produced several 48s, even ones I had worked on, under the GreenPax nomenclature. So, this summer, we forged StumblePax.

We pulled the genre "Film Noir," which was thrilling and awesome, but frightening and scary all at the same time. However, come Saturday morning, we knew that our screenwriter, Andy Kahn, had a hit a "home run" with the script.

Starring Chris Pierce, Rachel Cumberland, Tehya Ramey, and Me, this film, "Scam" is probably my proudest moment ever in the 48 Hour Film Project.

Our team won awards for "Best Graphics" and "Audience Favorite - Group C." I have coveted one of those audience awards for 14 years. It was a thrill to finally WIN one.
