Unfortunately, like so many of the worst aspects of industry and our culture, this protein obsession was all about making money, not about supporting your health. 2 medium limes juiced
1 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
1 handful of fresh basil
2 cups of freshly squeezed orange juice
2 garlic cloves
1/2 cup of raw tahini
1 small thumb of ginger
1 teaspoon of finely diced jalapeño pepper.

For me, I have been having a marathon of Christmas classics for the last last few weeks and The Grinch will always be one of my favorites. Watching him experience a profound, magical change is a reminder that we have the power to control who we will become. Also the significant importance of the people and energy we choose to keep around us. Seeing his complete metamorphosis one thing is very clear, he didn’t do it alone. He did it with community. He did it with support.

For the longest time I thought I had to do everything on my own. That the weight of the world of both myself and others, was my burden to carry alone. I had a problem with “delegating” the load. I’m still in the process of unpacking it. Maybe it was a pride thing 🧐. I think honestly I viewed community as a weakness. Maybe even feelings of undeserving. Now, I understand that I just created a ceiling to what I could become. I had to learn to choose people and my environment very wisely.

The people chosen have to be life contributors and not the cause of life depletion. The people who surround us have extreme power as to who we will become. Our circle will be our greatest asset or our biggest hinderance.
People can change and evolve for the better. No matter how low they may seem, they can change. But in order to do so, they need the right environment.

🤬How is this even legal⁉️”Natural”, I’m sure you have seen this term on just about everything at the grocery store. Unfortunately it’s nothing more than deceptive advertising strategy to deceive consumers into the idea that they are making a healthy purchase for themselves and their families. We must become students/teachers of our own proactive research. Look into ingredients, eat real unprocessed food as much as possible and take the time to oversee everything encountering your temple. The body does not simply attack itself and disease when we are putting the food it was designed to consume. Rather our quality of health diminishes when we fill it with processed garbage and chemicals. Chobani is one of the worst yogurts on the market no matter how much they try to wrap it up in pretty packaging. You are paying for chemically drenched fruits placed in cancer causing dairy. There are tons of alternatives that are healing rather than damaging. Brand selection is one of the many things I go over with clients when creating their wellness plans.

☮️ I have decided to stay in peace.
Before my feet hit the floor every morning I make the decision to not relinquish my power to negativity. My peace is premeditated. To have control of your emotions from both internal and external forces is one of the most powerful possessions you can own. It leaves you with harmony in your own hands where it should be and not determined by outside sources which are unpredictable, temperamental and unstable.
I am not suggesting that every single day is pure bliss & tranquility but I am saying I make a conscious effort to be submerged in positivity on a daily basis. I do so by not letting irrelevant things steal my joy. I do so by not letting the bleak moods of others pe*****te my vibe. I do so by letting go of the idea of perfection and welcoming a life with some bumps along the way. I do so by being incredibly selective when it comes to who I allow inside my energy. I do so by letting go of what I know is not meant for me. I do so by understanding not every battle is worth fighting. I do so by cherishing and nurturing the good in my life to ensure it’s vitality. I do so by not dwelling on the rude lady in the store or the guy who cut me off on the highway.
It’s about making the best of things and focusing on solutions rather than harping on the problems. And most importantly I focus on gratitude. There is something very magical about appreciation as it has a way of making the bad things in life not so bad after all. I will end on this note.....Choosing peace is not about the suppression of feelings, it’s about not letting negativity linger past its purpose. Life is not always going to be peaceful. We are going to have hardships, griefs, heartaches, pain, bad days etc. BUT I choose to not hold onto these things for a second longer than they need be. I acknowledge the feeling, hold it for as long as it needs to stay and then let it go to free up room for peace.

🥧 Easy Vegan Pumpkin Pie:
Ingredients
Ready made Gluten-Free Pie Crust
Pie Filling:
15 oz Pureed Pumpkin
¾ cup Coconut milk canned
½ cup Coconut sugar
2½ tbsp Maple syrup
3 tbsp tapioca flour
2½ tsp Pumpkin pie spice*
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1/3 tsp salt
Whipped coconut cream (optional)
Instructions
Pumpkin Pie Filling:
Process all filling ingredients in a food processor or blenderuntil completely smooth.
Pour the pumpkin filling into the pie crust and spread it with a spatula.
Bake in the oven at 350F for 25 minutes. Turn off the oven and let the pie in the oven but open the door of the oven. Wait for a further 5 minutes, then take it out of the oven and let cool at room temperature. The middle of the pie will still be a bit wobbly and that's normal.
After the pie has cooled on the counter for a while, place it into the fridge to firm up. This takes at least 2 hours but preferably leave it there overnight.
Top with whipped coconut cream.

🧂The type of salt you consume does make a world of difference with your health. Although refined table salt is produced from sea salt it is so highly processed that the end-product leaves it alarmingly void of its natural nutrients. The naturally-occurring minerals, essential to our health are stripped from the harvested sea salt. Aluminum and other additives are used to dry the salt. The salt is then processed under such extreme heat that its chemical structure is altered.
To replace the stripped iodine, potassium iodide is added to make the salt “iodized.” Stabilizers are added and the substance is bleached white. Refined salt is 99% sodium chloride and devoid of its vast, original, trace mineral composition. Sodium chloride interferes with the transmission of nutrients to the cells in our body and causes electrolyte imbalances. It can also cause water retention and inflammation. Like refined sugar, refined salt, another highly processed, unnatural substance, creates addictive salt cravings in many people, while increasing the likelihood of disease.

Ingredients:
🍝 pasta!
🥬 Spinach
🧅 Onion
A few cloves of fresh garlic
Raw Cashews
Salt
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Spring Water
Directions:
To make the cream sauce I use the small attachments of my and add in 1/4 cup raw cashews, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/4tsp salt, 1/4 tsp garlic powder and 2/3 cup spring water and mix until it forms a creamy consistency. I blend on level 10 for 1 minute and 15 seconds. I then add in a bowl with my cooked gluten-free pasta and sautéed onion, spinach and garlic. This is an easy and delicious meal that will not leave you tired or bloated like typical dairy and all ingredients are healing to the body. 😋 Bon appétit

🌱 Sweet & Sour Cauliflower Bites
Ingredients
1 head of cauliflower, cut into pieces
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup of almond flour
1/3 cup of coconut oil + 3 tablespoons, divided
For the sauce:
½ cup of apple cider vinegar
¼ cup of ketchup
2 tablespoons of coconut aminos
1/3 cup of maple syrup
1 teaspoon of garlic salt
1 tbs almond flour + 2 tbs water
For toppings: sesame seeds, green onion, and rice/ quinoa
Directions:
Pre-heat your oven to 425 degrees F and lightly grease a baking sheet.
Place the cauliflower in a large bowl and toss in the salt, pepper, and 3 tablespoons of the oil. Give it a good mix to coat the cauliflower and then add in the 1/2 cup of almond flour.
Heat 1/3 cup of oil in a large pot over medium high heat. Once hot, add in the cauliflower and fry for about 5 minutes, tossing to cook on all sides. Once done, place on the baking sheet.
Make the sauce by whisking together the apple cider vinegar, ketchup, coconut aminos, maple syrup, garlic salt, and almond flour + water. Pour the sauce over top of the cauliflower and toss.
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cauliflower is just starting to get crispy.

Food is medicine both preventive and healing. I made a promise to myself many years ago that taking pristine care of myself: body, mind and soul was going to be a top priority. And I’m proud to say it has been and will continue to be for forever and ever. The first step to my healing journey was a total nutritional revamp. I’m talking completely unlearning all the misinformation I had learned my entire life, eliminating every toxic damaging food I was choosing to put inside my body and starting from scratch. I began by connecting with like-minded people I admired to teach me all I would need to know to start rebuilding from the inside out with nothing but absolute nourishment. God also gave me a bonus in the process as I gained a few forever friends with the same mindset and purpose. 💫 I tend to believe no one we ever meet is by chance. Changing my daily conversations from small talk to meaningfulness was healing all on its own.
I made a commitment to be a life long student who would never give up on learning holistic living. A life long commitment to never stop trying to become a better version of Dana. And most importantly a life long commitment to never close my eyes to where I am lacking because I am wise enough to know only mindfulness breeds growth.

🥦 Creamy Broccoli Pesto Pasta
INGREDIENTS
Vegan ricotta
FOR THE BROCCOLI PESTO
1.5c broccoli florets chopped uncooked
1 cup basil
1/3 cup walnuts
2 cloves garlic
1 lemon juiced
1/2 cup olive oil
salt & pepper to taste
FOR THE PASTA
I box pasta
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 shallot diced
1 lemon zested and juiced
Top with basil and parsley
INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare the pesto by combining all of the ingredients in a food processor and blending until combined.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions, being sure to reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
While pasta is cooking, coconut oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add shallot, lemon zest & lemon juice and sauté for 3 minutes.
Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the pesto and a 1/2 cup of the pasta water. Toss to combine, adding additional pasta water as needed. Once everything is heated through and sauce comes together remove from the heat.
To serve, spread 1/4 cup of ricotta onto each plate (or bowl) and top with pasta. Add any additional toppings and eat!
💨 Breath in breath out...... I am whole heartedly soaking up the few warm(ish) days the east coast has to offer. For me, I run on sunshine and warmth. It’s where I feel optimal both mentally and physically. It’s energizes me in a way nothing else can. ⛽️. During the colder months I find that I tend to slack on my physical activity due to the fact that I become less motivated in the cold. I don’t like that about myself so I’m changing the narrative this season. How? By simply having a PLAN and not going on a whim.

A long time ago I began to plan for meaningfulness instead of leaving it to chance. With a schedule like mine I have to❗️I do this with my kids & loved ones, my self care, my never-ending desire for learning and my businesses. I make structured time for things that are near and dear to my heart so nothing gets lost blowing in the winds of life. Things do not typically just fall into our lap but rather arrive from consistent choices we choose to make. I can’t tell you how many times I brought home a cute little plant to leave on my kitchen sink that died because I, although without intention, forgot to water it enough. 😬 This would happen over and over until I made a “plan” for it. All it took was a simple daily alarm for me to give the plant all the nourishment it needed. I can proudly saw I haven’t killed a plant since. I’m a whole plant mom over here! 🌸 If you want flower buds you must water, if you want amazing relationships you must foster them, if you want knowledge you must study, if you want success you must put in that work. You must PLAN for it. I’ll leave you with this, the grass is greener when you plan to water it.....What are you planning for in life?

I look at a self-love DEFICIENCY as a dangerous poison. Both full of symptoms and side effects with only one antidote: putting in the hard work to heal YOU! It will have you compartmentalizing every damaging red flag another shows in an attempt to fill a void that you need to make whole yourself. It’s symptoms will look like settling for less than you deserve, always getting the shorter end of the stick, broken promises, your side of the table always leaning and accepting breadcrumbs instead of a entire plate. It’s side effects are even lower self esteem, more self doubt, dysfunction, depression and anxiety. Some will feel all this aftermath and still be hesitant to walk away. Why?
I feel like we can all fall into a bad habit of attaching wrong people if we are not mindful of our broken parts that need remedy. Looking for others to fix us, numb us, or come save us from ourselves is not the answer to your true happiness. Most likely, you will not attract the proper people to do so in that state of mind and if you do happen to find an amazing person there is a good chance you will push them away. I find that a person who doesn’t love themselves enough has a very hard time accepting healthy love and instead opts for pure avoidance or harmful partners. Toxicity can actually feel like God sent destiny to damaged individuals even leading them to question what is wrong with them for this to be happening and take on the blame of toxic party. A person who is healed has more rationale. If any situation makes a solid individual feel the slightest bit of discomfort they can analyze it by asking themselves if it’s causing sanctuary or suffering and move accordingly. I have been there I get it, but I put in the work to be my best version on a daily basis and I can honestly say I have not one person in my life who causes me distress. I choose same hearted people, it’s a choice. I truly think you deserve the world and more. Choose wisely. 🌈

I hear quite often, “does it really matters if the food is organic?” ABSOLUTELY! Non-organic conventional produce is drenched in harmful chemicals & toxins that wreck havoc on our body and genetically modified. Talk about a science experiment 😳 These poisons simply cannot be just “washed” off as their damaging mutations begin as early as the seed formation. Yes, they actually alter the DNA of the seed for mass production, bigger size ect. Now why does this part matter so much? Our body will simply not recognize what we are putting into it because it and will perceive it as a threat causing body inflammation and a gang of other issues. Hello disease!

☁️🥺We have 2 options in life, we can search for the sunshine or we can search for the gloom. I can promise you that whichever one you are seeking is the one that will be found. Life isn’t always going to be easy. Wins come with losses, love comes with heartbreak, joy comes with grief and successes come with failures. I never really understood when I was younger when I heard, “happiness is a choice”. At that point I felt like I had the world on my shoulders. The younger me was unaware that I am was in complete control of my emotions and I actually had the ability to starve my own negativity. I was not only capable of making happiness a choice but even better yet I could make it a habit.
I did this on a number of ways. One I allowed myself to actually feel uncomfortable feelings instead of brushing them under the rug and avoiding them. I invited them in to stay while I acknowledged their presence. I would actually say to myself, “sadness I feel you in there stay as long as you like but then you gotta leave”. I would explore where it was stemming from and then move my thoughts to positive ones. It works like magic I don’t avoid and save for later I let myself feel, cry if I have to and keep it moving towards positivity. Second, I would create happiness. I took time with myself to find all the pieces I lost somewhere along the way and mastered Dana. I knew what made me happy in life and I seek these things on a daily basis. I know what makes me unhappy in life and I deny it’s access. Thirdly, I wrote out a clear outline of my morals and values that I was unwilling to deviate from. This is more important than one may think. If we don’t clearly and specifically know these in the constant forefront of our mind we will find ourself in situations where we will lose ourself and our happiness. If you are lost please know you can be found. If you are unhappy please know with all certainty you can find happiness. It’s a choice through blood, sweat & tears but a choice nonetheless. I love you all and I hope you know you deserve the world. Please don’t settle for anything less. 🌈
🌶 Vegan Chili
INGREDIENTS
1 onion
3-4 cloves garlic
15 oz. can diced tomatoes
15 oz. can tomato sauce
2 1/2 cups vegetable broth
15 oz. can kidney beans
15 oz. can black beans
1 cup black beluga lentils (uncooked)
2 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. cumin
Salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
Dice onion & sauté onion
mince garlic.
add chili powder, cumin, and garlic. Stir and saute 1-2 minutes.
Add vegetable broth, diced tomatoes with juice, and tomato sauce.
Rinse and drain both beans and lentils. Add to pot.
Increase heat and bring to a light boil. Then reduce heat to med-low, cover, and simmer for about 25-30 minutes or until lentils are tender.
Add avocado & cilantro
🥒 DETOX PASTA
🍂Fall revival time! With the change of every season I do an intensely rejuvenating & detoxifying cleanse. To me it’s healing at muliti-level capacities. Physically it helps my body purge out an intense amount of unwanted toxins to achieve even better life & vitality. Emotionally it has has a profound effect on my mental health by removing impurities even of the mind. I can feel it wash away self-doubt, fear and any other emotions that make me get in my own way. Spiritually speaking I feel even more pull towards God and nature during this time. During my detox I typically do a fast for a few days(do so only under the guidance of a professional such as myself) and then ease into strictly raw food for another few days. Lasting about 6-7 days in total. Since digestion takes up so much of the body’s energy this is a way to give the body a break from it so it can then put all that extra energy into cleansing it. If you know me you know how much a love my gluten-free pasta! 😂 and even during this time I found a way to never go without it. These zucchini spiralized noodles drizzled in unheated olive oil, salt & minced raw garlic are an amazing alternative. Have you guys every tried veggie pasta?!

🦁 HAIR GROWING FOODS. I get asked a lot about my long tresses. I definitely did not have these locks before I changed my diet. My hair used to be thin, dull, full of split ends and completely unable to grow past my mid back! When I began to eat real God made food instead of the processed chemically drenched garbage I was eating I saw my hair transform. These are some foods that are amazing for hair growth. Does your hair grow as you’d like?
🎃 PUMPKIN MUFFINS
INGREDIENTS ALL ORGANIC
1 cup pumpkin puree
2/3 cup almond milk
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
3/4 cup almond flour
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 tsp pumpkin spice
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Hand-mix, pumpkin puree, almond milk, and apple cider vinegar.
Separately mix almond flour, maple syrup, baking soda, powder, and pumpkin spice
Combine mixes. Gently combine with a spatula. Fold in 2/3 of the chocoalte chips. Save the rest to add on top.
Line and grease a muffin pan. scoop to fill up each muffin cups close to the top.
Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips on top.
Bake 20 - 23 minutes or until done.
Let it cool for 10 minutes.

People who give their all to the very same things that leave them in ruins. The undeserving whose heart doesn’t operate from one ounce of deception or ill intention yet still left damaged regardless. What causes such a tragedy? ALLOWING UNNECESSARY ACCESS‼️How do you fix it? By acknowledging your chosen patterns and using your discretion. Making someone knock and giving them a look-over in the peep hole before you just open your door. Examining the activities in your life that are hindering your growth. Being mindful of your surrounding. Eyes wide open. 👀
Your power will come from acknowledging dysfunctional choices and beginning to reroute your energy to those who deserved it. Those who reciprocated the same positivity you dish out. 😳 Should you go fully raw?
If you are familiar with the vegan diet I’m sure you have heard of a million and one ways to “do it”. The most popular are cooked vegan, raw vegan, a mix of both or just incorporating some vegan meals in a carnivore diet. I am the best of best worlds. I am fully vegan with a mix of both cooked & raw food. I have experimented with every kind and here are my experiences.

Fully Cooked Vegan. With this diet I felt good but not great. I made leaps and bounds with energy levels and overall health but I was still having some days of major fatigue.

Fully Raw: Initially I felt AMAZING on this diet. I have 20/20 vision naturally but I honestly feel like by vision even went beyond that. I had amazing mental clarity and felt light on my feet. I was cold often as to be expected on a raw diet. This lasted for a couple months then I began to lose weight like crazy! 🤔 Not ideal for an already slim gal. I let go of my gluten free pastas, rice, quinoa and potatoes so I found it hard to make caloric count needed for myself on fully raw. I also noticed because I most likely wasn’t getting enough calories my energy levels began to go down. I do personally believe the body needs some warm foods entering the body for optimal health, especially in colder months. And most importantly I missed cooked foods. This wasn’t the diet for me.

Mixed: Mostly raw and a little cooked food is my match! I have been on this for years and honestly have never felt better. It’s easy to make my caloric count needed to maintain a healthy weight, I feel happy, I feel energized....I truly feel amazing.
