Here are photos and videos of what I showed at the WornOUT recycled fashion event night 😊

It was great to be a part of this for my first ever fashion happening.
Thank you to my models Camille and Camilla, whom are part of my community family, for helping me showcase them, and for the music provided by my friend, Brent Joly. πŸ’šπŸ’

And thank you to all the WornOUT and Reverse Garbage team for doing everything they could to make the night what it was for everybody.

Very inspiring night seeing what other creators shared with everybody too, and had some lovely chats with fellow eco creators.

The outfits are 100%recycled, made on bases of altered second hand clothing, with hundreds++ of hand cut and hand sewn sequins made from plastic box strapping (some bought second hand, bin dove for some and found some on the road πŸ˜…πŸ˜Š). Other beads made from insulin lids offered to me by a family member, and tv screen. Some of the oher recycled bits include copper wire from pulled apart electronics, found objects and trash on the beach, medical equipment tags, plastic film, curtain, bubble wrap, use of the scraps made during the process of the outfits.

Pretty proud of putting my first personally made fashion / wearable art pieces out there, and looking forward to creating more recycled fashion wearables.

My first stall in a year and my first official market stall style set up. I finally got to whip out my purple gazebo too πŸ˜πŸ§šπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
Lovely to come back into this part of my passion in a hyper local community setting at Annerley Juntion Fest.

Have a little set up at Annerley library from the 11th/2nd - 11th/3rd.

Feel free to go have a ponder and say hello to the friendly staff there. Maybe borrow some nice books :)

So lucky also to have had help through the Buy Nothing Annerley/Fairfield page. A lovely community member Cassie, lent me a beach cart for the day to, well.. cart, my stuff there from home all in one go. So it was a pretty smooth running day. πŸ§šπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜Š

Finding fun ways to play with the left over flowers in my Floristry course.
First week of prac has been fast paced, but fun. It's lovely to work with the plant material in creating πŸ§šπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸŒΏ

Taking photos outside, I saw for the first time the newest animal addition too my house having a swim. Cool to see them enjoying the pool we made for the resident water dragons out of a tire and bucket ('Atantis pool'.. haha)

Setting up a mock market stall in the lounge room in preparation for my stall at Junction Fest this weekend.
Having a time trying to figure out what to, and not to bring along. I have a lot more art stock than I realised. Not a bad thing :)

You can find my stall out the front of Junction News and Casket this Saturday from 9am-1pm.

So I've been in a creative lull for several weeks now. It's been nice to accept that I'm in a different part of a cycle of late that is not very artistically creative (odd times for me πŸ˜…). I've been clearing out what is not longer serving me in my living and creative spaces. (and become a bit of a hermit).

Which led me to refurbishing this big old box I bought from someone's back shed on Gumtree. I was loose with my expectations and (as usual) experimented within the flow to get to the finished product.

It was nice for a bit of creativity to show through a project that was also helping me clear out and tidy up my spaces.

A reminder that the arting/crafting in me is not lost, just napping. :) πŸ§šπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Collaboration at The Burrow with Manu the Chalk Guy and myself.
Chalk is a way different medium than paint, which I'm used too. I good challenge.
And kudos to Manu the Chalk Guy for keeping up these huge chalks over the past 10 years for the Burrow (It's no easy feat). And thanks to the Burrow for supporting and embracing local artists.

Newby, all done today 😊
Had my support team there with me out the front all day. Kept inching towards me from the other side of the shop front until it sat happily above my painting for the last few hours. πŸ’šπŸ™πŸ¦— Thanks grasshopper.

And thanks Groove Cafe for having me paint, and putting trust in me to paint off the top of my head πŸ’œ

Hellloooo...
I will be at The Burrow today holding another stall with an assortment of my creations.

I'll have a new arty product I've designed, out for sale for the first time. I've been trialing and waiting weeks to nut out kinks and now they're ready.

Self watering window sill plants, made from recycled materials.
I've been loving them at home on my shelf when the sun in coming through, casting light and rainbows over my kitchen.

Here is the first lot that will be at the stall today.

Come down, grab a coffee, bring cash.

Something that's been in the works for me lately is making self feeding ornamental plant objects. They are made from recycled objects and found things.

I hope to be selling ones like this quite soon.

13/02/2021

Have a mini stall happening at The Burrow right now. I'll also be continuing my bathroom mural during that time.
Come down and check it out, grab a cool drink and have a chat.

Also, Dark Heart Designs is here selling awesome Tees of her own designs, with some homemade scrunchies and chutney on the side.

Panoramic flow photo of a barrel I painted for Reverse Garbage. Had to choose to 'finish'as I could have spent oh so many more hours in continuing this piece. Haha.
It can be viewed, along with other barrels by artist's who participated in rescuing a barrel at Reverse Garbage Queensland . All so different :D
Happy to have been a part of this project. And in what a wonderful way.. choosing to reuse and recycle, and for community. Love it. So up my alley.

Most recent collab chalk with Manu the Chalk Guy.
We make random marks like we’re playing β€˜Mr Squiggle’, then creating a flow piece from there, seeing where it goes.
Chews the chalk πŸ˜… But so much fun to create and see at the end. Worth it.

Sadly the rain washed a lot of this one away after a couple of day being out, but more will follow. Probably going to be a lockdown thing for us. To share colour and creativity with the Annerley community that walk past were we live ☺️ Hopefully it imparts!

Chalk collab with Manu the Chalk Guy last night in the car park out the back at Annerley.

Finding out what we can do with kids street chalk and home made charcoal sticks. And hoping the people in the apartment/units across the road enjoy looking at some colour in a now barley used pub carpark.
