Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves is meeting tonight with the PAHO Representative for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Countries Dr. Amalia Del Riego Abreu and other local and regional health officials. Discussions are focusing on the health situation in the Southern Grenadines and the collective response.
One Million Dollars worth of building materials arrived in Canouan this morning as we prepare to commence Reconstruction. In the 1st instance state facilities like the Clinic, Schools, Police Station, Airport and Administrative Building will be fixed. This is the result of a collaborative effort between the government of SVG and a private homeowner in Canouan.
International Arrivals at AIA remains busy on the Sunday after Vincy Mas concluded. We are moving away from seasonal tourism, towards a more sustainable year-round product.

Today we are holding another meeting of National Emergency Management Council to continue to sharpen our response in Relief, Recovery and Reconstruction. We have done this every Saturday since we were struck by Hurricane Beryl, and we will continue to do so for as long as it's necessary for our people.

We have begun to receive heartbreaking reports out of Union Island and the Southern Grenadines, even as our agencies desperately attempt to reestablish communications with certain sections and ascertain the extent of the damage to the mainland. We are still under a tropical storm warning ⚠️. Please remain indoors and out of harms way. I will update the nation live from NBC Radio St Vincent and the Grenadines at 7pm.

The National Emergency Council convened a meeting this morning in preparation for the impending Tropical Storm (TS) Beryl, which is expected to be a hurricane, by the time it begins to affect us. We are talking all necessary precautions and I will address the nation at 11am today on our efforts.
